For anyone running Nittos wheather it be the NT 555,NT 05,NT-01 how do you like them??Pros/cons and also what size you running and what kind of rims.Im looking to run them on the stock 18's.Up front im set on 245/40/18.Im not gonna push it anymore its not owrth it.But the rears i would like to go with a 275/35/18.Can these be run on the stock 18's??Ive seen people run them but then again ive seen people say its impossible im confused .I know its recommend that to run 275 you need at least a 9" wide wheel but ive seen it done on th stock 18's.Any info is appciated thanks.

if ur springs are sagging u will rub in front and back w/o rolling/cutting. the 275 can be done on the stock 18 but it is too wide, u wont be getting the full 275 on the ground so not worth it

You should heed the recommendation and put a 275 on a 9 to 10 inch wheel. Putting a 275 on a stock 18x8 wheel is a waste of money, time, and tire. You can get way with a 255 in the rear. A 245 for the front should be fine.

Love my Nitto 555R drags, Good traction! only last 1 season, about 8-9,000 miles.

hey ultra..did you have to roll or use wheel spacers with the wheel/tire set up you have in your sig?

No fender rolling or any wheel spacers. Only a good alignment and Pedders Track II kit.

I had the 555R's on my GTO and absolutely loved them! They rode better than anything I tried, got better grip when dry and also surprisingly better grip than anything else in rain.
My only complaint of the tire is they didn't last too long, I forgot exactly how long I had them but it was short lived. Good thing they're not too expensive.
I just installed the NT-05's on my Z06 and these tires are just as good if not better than the 555R's. Hard to compare between the two cars since the Z06 is modified and has a hard time getting grip no matter what but these tires stick like glue, handles like you're on rails, and rides very smooth. So far my only complaint is they stink... literally. It's like a fine mixture of new rubber and horse shit. A small price to pay for a tire that is not that expensive and grips like no other.
I give A+ satisfaction overall, and swear by nitto's. I have owned and used nearly every thing else and haven't found an equal. Good luck.

I have 555r 2's on the back. Same pattern as the drag radial but with a slightly harder rubber and a much stiffer side wall. More of a drifting tire. They suit my driving style a bit better than 555r's. Exceptional rain tire like was mentioned above.

I like my 555r's. They make a good street tire since I only track it a few times a year.

I have 275's on the stock 17 inch. Performance wise, probably no better than a 245, but I like the look of fat meat in the back.

just remember to make sure the tire Dia. is the same for front and rear. your ABS will drive you crazy if they are too far apart and you like to drive aggressively around corners (hard on the brakes). If you go onto the Ntto website, you can see the available tire sizes, specs, and on which rim width they were taken.

I have 555r's out back, they are 245/45/17....I absolutely love them, they were about 5 times better than I had expected in the rain!!! Only had them for about 2 months, but they are holding up nicely :)

my experience is with 2 sets of drag radials and now running on the nt01s.
Pros
great treadlife for this type of tire.
awesome wet traction for the drag radials and better than expected on the nt01s.
the drag radials hooked awesome on the street, not so much at the strip. the nt01s in my case hook better both on the street and the track.
cons
price(not much more than tires in that size but gets expensive when your buying a pair every year.
treadlife(although better than in its class obviously horrible compared to a regular street tire.
if your very concerned about traction and dont dd your goat i would recommend putting on some 245/40/18 nt01s on the back of your goat. if your looking for some longer treadwear, maybe invos.
P.S. both the drag radials and the nt01s are completely useless under 40 degrees traction wise.

NT-01. Best bang for the buck in a R-Comp. They did not last quite as long as my Yokohama A048 but since the Nittos are less expensive, it works out in the long run.
The NT-01 lasted me 2 full weekends at VIR, four autocross events and maybe 2-3K miles in between. But then again I murder tires.
