Buddy of mine is selling some MT d/r's. 275/45/17 (I think it was 45) I'm just wondering if they will fit on the stock 17's :o

They will fit but it would be worthless because your rim can accomadate the contact patch. Now if you run like 20 psi that will help but two low of pressure can hurt to..

I have never done this so I am no expert so hopefully a expert with real world experience doing this will pop in here..

this would only be used for track days and not daily driving :)

Hey Does Wider Rim Size Mean Better Traction For Example A 18x7.5" Rim Will Have Worse Traction Control Than A 18x8.5"

The wider wheel allows the tire to expand out more putting more rubber on the ground.
