I'm getting a new cam, 228/232 111LSA, with a 3600 stall put in even as we talk. It was brought to my attention it would be a good idea to get some drag radials on the back. Two suggestions were Nitto's or BFG's for a daily driver. I am in Florida and it rains a lot around here so I need some traction for that kind of climate. Any suggestions or experience with these type of tires? :oldfogey:

Drag radials and regular rain don't work so good for a daily driver. Look into stickier compounds with good water shedding ability.

That's what I was thinking, I have 245/40 18 KDW's running 376/401 on the dyno. Traction really sucks and on the street it will get away from you if you aren't careful. I need something sticky and can put the power to the ground. I keep reading about these Potenza R01's and have even heard some good about Vredstain (sp)

The Nitto 555R are probably the best drag radial compromise for driving in the rain (I had a pair once), but they still suck. The other drag radials like M/T and BFG are better at the track, but suck even worse in the rain. For sticker summer performance tires that don't suck in the rain, the ones that I would probably recommend are Bridgestone Potenza, Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec and Nitto Invo. You can probably find better prices on the Dunlop and Nitto tires, the Bridgestones are a little more expensive.

EDIT: after I posted, I saw a special sale on Bridgestones in this section.

I would look into Nitto 555r or possibly Nitto-NT05..

Nitto NT05 are better for road racing tracks. The side wall is too stiff for drag racing or stop light contests. As was mentioned previously, drag radials suck in the rain.

I think i read that the goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3 is a good summer tire with excellent wet weather traction. Maybe you should look into those. I personally don't know how good they are so i really wouldn't know. Just my .02

I have a set of the GS-D3s (goodyear) and I will say they ARE a great wet performer. Although they definately didnt put it to the ground as much as i hoped originally, and they are 315/35 17s. With that said however, they are on my bird and thats with 450 at the tires and a 4.10 9 inch lol. When i mounted them i had a much milder set up (365 at the dirt) and they held pretty good for a STREET tire, IMO.

Sumitomo HTRZ 3 on mine, and I love them. Can't be any worse than drs in the rain and great handling.
