At least 38 in front, and as close to 50 as possible in the rear.

That is if the fronts are 8.5-9in. and the rears are 9.5-10in.

front i was going to run 8in wide and the back 11in wide. i am looking at jegs and it doesnt give 38 and 50 it give me 4in or 5in. so what does 38-50 calculate in inches

11 wont fit out back. 9.5 would need at least 7" backspacing.

so i need a 1.5in backspaing for 8in wide wheels on the front

stock 17's are a +48 offset...go from there....

a +38 would push the wheel 10mm (.4") outboard...

get yourself a wheel that is 8" wide front with a +40 offset and use some 235 tires....

and a 9-9.5" wide wheel on the rear with at least a +45 / +48 offset and some 265/35's....to me, this setup looks the best on the GOAT

well when you got the wheels for 300 bucks and they were never used yea its ok. jegs doesnt list them as +40 just 4in 4.75in or 5in

You are talking backspacing not offset.

Offset. Measurement off of wheel centerline.
Backspacing. Distance from mounting hub to inner wheel edge.

search this section. Look at the FAQ at the top. This topic has been covered time and time again. It all depends on what width wheel and what size tyre you plan to run.

:search: is your friend.
