I will be picking up an 05 gto tomorrow with 30k on it. It has 225/50/17's on the front and 275/45/17's on the rear with drag bags. I know that the stock tire size is 245/45/17 all around. I know about the strut rub issues. As for the front it is pretty close to the strut and its has 225's. I will be putting the stock size on the front. Should I be worried about anything?

Just Make sure that they don't rub on the front struts. With the 245 in front you have to make sure that the front camber is according to revised GM specs.

On my 2004 I got about 5 mm clearance at the struts.

If you can see the negative camber than it is too much and I would definately have a look.

Like turn the wheel out and look at the strut vs tire .

If you have a SAMs card, they warrant the tires if you stick with their original size ( 245/45 17) They have always treated me well there. Prices are competitive and they even order tires. I asked them today for mine and they said that it take a week to get them in.

( BFG or Michelin is what I asked for )

Also with the drag bags in the rear will that affect the alignment when it is performed? Where do I find the revised specs? I was thinking about going with Proxy 4's in the front.

So GM had issues with it so they must have revised the specs. All I have is a link to pedders.
