I have an IBM and I'm powdercoating my stock 17's. I can't decide weather to go Gloss Black or Satin Black.

Opinions anyone?

Anyone else? How bad will the gloss wheels look compared to the tire? I don't want to have to shine my tires everyday....although I am leaning more towards the gloss.

i would do a satin, any little flaws will show up very nicely (sarcastic) if they are gloss black. but satin is just a really clean shade of black IMO. and if you did a small blue pin stripe around the outside of the wheels, mwah, beautiful!

I love the way my satin black wheels look, once you see a satin black in person your mind will be made up IMO, plus I live near you if you would like to see for yourself.

This would be the cheapest way to do it... If you have the time, and kinda know what your doing..

Nah I'm not feeling the spray paint. I want them to look good and have good quality. If anything I'd have a shop paint them.

a quality rattlecan paint job can look just as good as if a shop did it with the proper prep and spray technique and if you scratch one its no where near as expensive to repair.

As you asked if I knew any shops around that do PC'ing, the only one I know of for sure is Lithia Springs Powder Coating, they are right off I-20 on Lee Road out near Douglasville. I really dont know what they charge for all 4 wheels, may want to call and get a quote. I know there are a few other shops up around the Marietta and Acworth area, no clue of the name's. Now that all said, I did a friend of mine wheels for his S2000, went with a gloss black with clear, did all the prep and they looked good, just for me as I own a satin wheel, I'd say when looking at both cars side by side (granted our color hue's of black are different), I liked mine a whole lot more. In the end its all up to you though. Again if you want to see how satin looks shoot me a PM. GL to ya man, IMO wheel choice is one of the more difficult things to do for any vehicle.
