i am going to some bigger wheels on the back of the goat and have been told that i will need to cut the fender to make them fit. what i want to know is if it would be better to cut them or just to have them rolled?
Thanks

Both methods are good, I had mine cut and rolled up, then filled with Dyno Bond, similar product to bondo, once dried, it was sanded and then covered in undercoating. Looks like it came that way from the factory. That is the big advantage to cutting vice rolling, IMO.

Most people take it to a shop that way someone that knows what there doing is working on it... Although others have done it themselves.. If i had to get my fenders done than I would take it to a Pro..

Depends on where your spot welds are located on your wheel lips. Some gto's have the spot welds closer to the edge of the lip & if you cut/grind down too much the lip could seperate from the inner structure. This would be a problem if you did it yourself. A body shop would be able to spot weld this back in place no problem & do what the guys stated above treat area & undercoat. I took my goat to a custom wheel shop & they rollled the qtrs. This way atleast the welds wont be affected. Long story short both methods are good. Just have it done if your not sure that you can do it. It will be worth time/money.

When I had mine done as stated above, #2, they didn't cut the lip shorter they cut from the edge to the outside of the fender, like making a TTTTT all the way around the fender. But only cut it so that when the fender was rolled up it would not warp the outside edge of the fender. Also this way the tack welds were not affected. With all the parts and labor it took about 4 hours to do it and cost be $175 per fender. I will be cleaning the car in the next day or 2 and can snap some pics and post if you would like.
