Polished Lip (Clearcoated finish) - What do I put on after cleaning?

Can I use polish on the lip if it has clearcoat on it? Since it has clearcoat on it do I just treat it like paint? I'm lost on how to take care of these rims.

I have a mothers polishing ball, but I heard that you can burn through the clearcoat if you use that. What product do I put on after cleaning to bring out the shine and protect the finish?

Clear coated wheeles, treat them like they're painted. Use polish if they're scratched, wax them to protect them. Too harsh of a compound and/or too much pressure with a mechanical polisher/buffer, yes you could go through, but no more easily than on the body's clear coat.
