Just got the upper in and put this together. I wanted to build my ultimate rifle while I had some extra money, because who knows how often I'll have a few thousand lying around. My goal was to have a rifle that could handle almost any reasonable situation that may arise in the future. This may be my last AR for a while unless I scrape the money together to get a Spikes .22 upper over the summer.
Rainier was awesome for the upper. They didn't have any of Sabre barrels that normally go in this upper in stock, but held this ultra match barrel for me for 24 hrs until a check cleared and I could put a deposit on it. In the times we are in, I was very surprised they would hold a barrel with no deposit, but they did. I paid for it around 11 am their time and it was built and shipped out within a few hours. That blew me away considering how busy they probably are. I will definitely go to them in the future for anything I may need.

Very nice!!!
That might be one of my favorite AR's! very nice and functional and DAMN IT I want an ACOG!!!
Very nice! I have one that looks fairly similar with the Dark Earth/Tan furniture and black recievers. I haven't heard much about Rainier, but that's just me out of the loop as usual :D Have you put any rounds through it yet? Looks rock solid, and great choices on some of the mounts/sights/hardware! Great all-around balanced rifle IMO

They're a pretty big custom shop in Washington and have a rep for building top quality rifles on ar15.com. So I figured I'd see what they could come up with when I presented them with my requirements for the rifle and this is what we produced.
It will be shot this Saturday and I'll post some results. I'll probably just shoot it at 100, but may stretch it to 200 depending on how busy the range is.

Very nice build! - personally I would ditch the ASAP plate and use a Larue sling with QD's on the stock and rail.

That acog with LaRue mount cost a little under $1100 straight from LaRue. I didn't buy it elsewhere because I was going to replace the stock acog mount with the much superior LaRue mount anway. The mount itself is $125 and when you order the combo straight from them, you get the mount for free.

How do you like the rra 2 stage trigger? I was thinking about upgrading to one on my bushmaster, and it seems like the best option for a fighting carbine config.

I have two RRA triggers in two of my three ARs. I really do like it for the price. You could go with a Timney trigger who's single stage triggers I like quite a bit too, but they are almost twice the price of the RRA.

The only downside about ACOGs is their price. The clarity of the glass and quality of the optic are outstanding IMO. However, my Leoupold Mk. 4 was just as expensive, with illuminated reticle and variable power. It just depends on what you are going to be using it for, and if you want to spend that much for a 4x optic. I'm definitely happy with mine! :)

Range report:
Fired 250 rounds through it this weekend. 50 for accuracy and the rest just for fun. No malfunctions and it's amazing how clean the bcg was afterwards. It looked like I had fired 5 rounds max through one of my DI rifles. Took about 2 min to clean the bcg, then relube. I don't really know if it even needed to be cleaned. The only crappy thing is the vent for the piston is right after the gas block, and between that and the comp, the front half of the rifle gets very dirty. I will probably get the barrel done in black to cover up some of the fouling, the rail turned brownish from all the powder and such.
Best group fired with 5 rounds Black Hills 77 SMK red box. I only had 105 rds left and didn't want to waste too much of it. I'm going to try and find another box to shoot through as a baseline for my reloading. Measures .728" center to center, 100 yds. The acog isn't the easiest to line up consistently on this target, so I may have messed up the group a little because of it. So I'm going to try some basic squares next time.
Overall, very impressed and feel it was worth the amount of money I paid for the whole set up.
