Besides the sock on the bottom of the pump, this is the only filter I put inline. Is that a small enough mesh or should I get something smaller?

45-50 Micron is considered a pre-filter, to keep large debris from damaging the pump blades. A final filter should be 5-10 micron to keep the injector passages clean. I'm partial to this (http://www.malloryperformance.com/ProductDetails. aspx?modelNumber=3160&productID=2572&majID=220&minID=2205&selection=0&minselection=3) filter because of it's flow, mounting flexibility, and ease of replacement.

well i guess the sock filter on the pump is the prefilter then... picked up an aeromotive 10 micron inline today. that should do the trick. thanks.
