Awesome day to go to the gun range. Took my dad with me and fired about 300 rounds. My father brought along our family .22 rifle, which was manufactured between 1909 and 1936 by Remington (Link To Rifle) (http://www.remington.com/library/history/firearm_ models/rimfire/model_12.asp). Apparently our 22 ammo was crap. It was so quiet, when it fired, sounded like it had a silencer on the end. Even though the ammo wasn't so good it still shot at the targets fine. Excellent shape for a gun that is over 73 years old.

On a side note even for those who know how to handle a hand gun. smurfING PAY ATTENTION. I watched a guy with what i thought was jammed round trying to get it out of the gun. He was pulling back the slide trying to eject the round. Except it wouldn't come out and he was pointing it down the line of other shooters. Are you smurfing kidding me.

That's why I rarely go to public ranges anymore. Too many nimrods that have no clue about proper gun handling and safety. If that happens to you again, I'd suggest yelling out "MUZZLE!" in a not-so-kind voice. If the offender gets angry (and usually they do), tactfully remind them they're violating an important safety rule.

Shot the AK, a Glock 17 and a Mossberg 500, made for an enjoyable day at the range. The sound of gun fire is the sound of freedom, when the guns go silent we will know freedom is no more.

I've been in this situation before. I used to use this range over on my side of town, but too many ghetto people were always there when I went, and they had absolutely no concept of gun control or safety, and you'd see shit like that all the time. To make matters worse, folks watching the range behind the counter are doing so on a small webcam set-up in the range room.

So yeah, you get people clearing their guns, or stepping back to load a semi-auto pistol and pointing it down the row of other shooters instead of always keeping it downrange. I would usually will say something, because I'm not a small guy, and my wife usually goes with me to shoot. I'm not having her shot by some dumbass who doesn't know what he's doing. I guarantee it'd be a double-shooting that day. So, yeah, my size is usually enough to deter somebody trying to catch an attitude. But this one instance, a short fat guy who barely spoke English was doing the loading outside the stall thing, and when I asked him to keep it pointed downrange "Who you to tell me what I do!!???"

I was instantly in his face: "Listen buddy, either you can get your mind right and obey the rules of the range, or I can drag you out of here by your goddamn face, and then you get a free lesson in range safety out in the parking lot. What's it going to be, asshole?"

The guy stepped back, put his stuff back in the box and left. Shortly after that, I stopped going to that range. I actually saw a ghetto thug doing the holding the gun sideways thing, and that was pretty much the last straw.

I did that once, just to try it. Quite ineffective.

I would have to agree, since the guy didn't hole the paper once, and he'd put it at like 20 feet.

My personal favorite shooting stance is jumping in mid-air behind a bar with a gun in each hand blazing away. I practice this often because I have seen several movies in which this is a required skill.

I like to take up two shooting lanes so i can shoot 2 guns at one time. I keep them on different targets dirty harry style like im in a showdown with two different guys. THen.....i wait until one of the targets shoots first and then its on.....so far after about 5 hours of this.....nothing yet. but soon.....someday.....there will be blood.

I've never been to a shooting range. A friend of mine has several acres of land and lets us go shooting out there. I like sitting up about 5 gallon milk jugs full of water. Then shooting them all as fast as I can with my 870 tactical. I thought about filling them with red kool-aid next time to make it more realistic...lol.

Sorry I dont think I would be so nice. I would be either over there telling him not to do it again or if you dont want to deal with it go tell a range officer. They should have no tollerance for that and hopefully ask him to leave.
