FML
So, aside from fixing my strut mounts which I need to do anyway, will running a narrower tire such as a 225/235 help?
Many thanks.

Narrower tire will help.
Issue is probably due to collapsed strut mounts and worn front radius rod bushings.

Narrower tire? Don't be a dooshcanoe. That's a bandaid fix on a laceration.
Strut mount bushings/bearings & alignment. 245/45/17 is a-ok then.

This is why ya check your tires every oil change.

I did, and was already planning on changing the strut mounts next week when I get back from FL.
They went from a little rub/uneven wear to this in less than a month.

Mine were rubbung with less than 10,000 miles on my car. I went with a 245/40/17 and they don't rub.

Like city said, strut mounts/bearings(for sure), bump stops, radius rod bushings(stop the tire walking front to back) and an alignement and you will be back in business.
