I got these tires mounted yesterday and have about 30 miles on them. I plan to update this thread periodically and let everyone know how these tires last and how they treat me.

These tires replaced the BFG KDW2's that I had on the rear. I am making a "tad" more power now and felt I needed something a little better. The KDW2's has become useless in first, and part of second, and a little in third, and chirpy in 4th.

First impressions.

I watched them mount and balance these. They took a bit of weight, but it was weird you could tell that the tires looked a little "out of round". Just a little wobbly on the balance machine. They guy at the tire shop said not to worry too much, it could be because they had sat on a shelf for a while. (I ordered these online, not from the shop).

I had them inflate them to 25 and I left. Driving through town up to about 55 you can tell that these tires lack sidewall stiffness. The rear seems a bit "mushy". The ride isn't bad though. I go to a gas station and inflate these up to around the 32 mark, then jump on the highway for the 20 mile drive home.

On the hwy these feel stable. You can still tell that the rear is a bit loose, and upon lane changes the back has a tenancy to "wag" around. (remember my suspension is upgraded, and my car is low and offers a relatively firm ride). There were no weird out of balance feelings or vibrations.

I get home and let these cool off for awhile. I go out and look at them and they are starting to ball up a little like I have read they would. I decide to go try a few easy launches on them. I do not burn out or anything. I take the rpm's up to about 3200 and quickly slip the clutch out. They break loose a bit on me, but by the top of first they have good traction. 2nd screams a bit, but again hooks. 3rd and 4th both let out a little chirp, but it is amazing the difference in the car when the power is put to the ground. On decently hard shifts you can really feel the tires compress down in the back.

I make another run, again without a burn out, and experience similar results to the first.

I plan to hit the track soon, I will keep this thread updated in the mean time.

They are good enough to mess around with on the street, definatly perfer more sidewall at the track on a 15inch rim

That isn't an option for me. I tried some 16's but they wouldn't clear my brakes in the back.

all you need to do is shave off a 1/16th of an inch on the caliper and your good to go. At least with the greg welds

I have them on my car with 427rwhp and if I leave off idle the car just hooks and goes with zero spin. I am quite impressed. I will be putting on the 265s soon. I have already driven several thousand miles on them without any of the gumming issues I have been hearing about.

I have a PBR BBK. They are much bigger than the stock 04's or the 05/06 for that matter.

I will try to get to the track this weekend. Anyone have any suggestions on how to best launch, and what psi, and how long of a burn out to do?

And 1600 miles later these tires are gone. My best 60ft was a 1.96. Nothing to write home about.

They wore out that fast? I was thinkin they were good for 10 to 15k... Did you get some pics of how they look? Thanks man

I ran consistent 11.5x's w/1.7 60's on them at 25 PSI and they spun once and hooked. They do wear fast. Mine have 1000 miles or so and 4 passes (4-5 sec burnouts at most) and are showing noticeable wear. All considered, if you want to keep stock 18" wheels and not touch your quarters, they work great.

My cords started showing at 15k. I was quite impressed how long they lasted. They propelled me to 11.12 in the 1/4 with a 1.76 60'. First pass with MT 275 on Stock 17s in bracket race I broke of 1.49 :gr_devil: lol They were decent tires for 18s with stock height. I did not buy the 265/40/18s like I planned and instead got some Invos (great in rain) but boy do I miss hooking in 1st.

I was also thinking about the Invo's as well but say some bad reviews. Daniel Linnett, Do they hook ok? Which one of the 2 tires would you prefer? I want something that will hook but would like to get atleast 10-15k out of them. Thanks so much

I just bought a set of the same tires. Got them online for $462 shipped. Let's see how they like the Maggie. I have regular street tires on right now, and it's a little scary.
