I'm getting new tires and I'm putting 235s in the front (just to be on the safe side) and 245s in the rear on stock 17s... but will 255s work in the rear too? I'm getting

245/45ZR17 95W BFGoodrich G-Force™ Super Spt A/S from Sam's is what I was going to do....

Sure, but you may want to use a 255/40 instead of a 255/45 to keep similar rolling distances on the tires. This may look funny since you'll have more sidewall in the front than the rear.

Try playing around with this first:

They didn't have any 255s in. I ended up getting the Primewell PZ900 which were the house brand at tires plus ($400 all 4 installed + balanced)... not because I'm cheap but because I don't drive the GTO much and I'm just trying to sell it right now. Either way, it's a smoother ride than the old g-force KDWS and I get a lot more traction. Handling's a bit not as precise but still very acceptable for the price of the tire. I did 235 front and 245 rear... that'll keep me from having any strut rub I hope!

And wait... why the hell is the diameter different? Lame - didn't know this. That thing says my speedometer will be 1.41% too fast (front 235/45r17). Our speedometers get the speed from the front tires, right?
