Well after a month and half of ordering wheels, being stood up and charged twice by VQ (mf-ers), rolling fenders, ordering another set wheels, ordering and installing drag bags; I finally got some new wheels on the goat. I wanted to know what ya'll think. (In other words, let the chrome bashing begin). I guess I am part of a dying breed that still like chrome wheels, but even I admit I don't like them to be too blingish. I really want to thank everyone on the forum for posting helpful information without which I never would known what offsets to look for and other mods available, like rolling fenders and air lift bags, to make it possible to fit after market wheels on our cars. Anyway here some pics I took in the yard this afternoon after a half ass wash.

Bling Bling.
I don't like the chrome. Stern ST-1s with the black center look frickin sweet though.
The rear lip with the chrome looks goofy to me as well.

Yea I guess I am just the opposite, to me the black centers remind me of honda crx or a civic.

I bought the wheels off ebay for $469 plus $160 shipping. I ordered the tires from our new sponsor - Discount Tire.

agreed.... to me and no offence but i look at black wheels as being too cheep to buy wheels.... (most black wheels are painted stockers) the chrome looks bad ass dude... i have been looking at these for mine.... but im also looking at the ruff 278's

tire sizes?

Could you have gotten one size wider? Tires look a little too stretched for my taste but all in all, it is a hell of an upgrade from the stock look. Thumbs up!

The Ruff 278's are what I originally wanted and ordered from VQ but never got. Those were definitely my first choice and I really wanted 18's but these were to good of a deal to pass up and wheels are hard to find for our cars.
The tires are Nitto 555's with 245/35/19 and 275/30/19. Next time they will be atleast 285's on the rear. I was too scared to try it after reading all the posts on here, but wish I would have now. Atleast the rears shouldn't take to long before needing to be replaced.
Thanks for all the feedback.

Ive got black wheels on mine but TR is such and abnoxious color i didnt know if I wanted chrome. To me dont let what anyone says bother you I think your car looks sick with those wheels, and the dish in the rear is wild.

Chrome is hard to beat. Especially when it contrasts so well with darker colors. Dont listen to the haters. Looks good

Yeah, I think chrome only goes well with a black car. It looks good on IBM as well. Other than that though it just looks out of place. The darker colors, as stated ^^, are better for chrome.

looks damn good man, I like chrome or polished and painted as long as they look good on the car, thats the main thing.

I'm all in favor of a little chrome, no matter what color the car is. Probably not an issue for you, but with a really really long gravel drive, I would have to add some body color mud flaps to keep from throwing stuff up the side of the car. Thinking about them for mine with the 18s.
Overall, looks great. Congrats and enjoy!

I got the 40mm front and 42 rear. I was hoping to get the 46mm rear but I these were listed as a package deal that was too cheap to pass up.

+42 offset on a 8.5" wheel? Those look more pushed out than my P245 (tires) with a +38 offset on 8" (wheels).

No they're 40 offset on 8.5" wide front with a 245 tire and 42 offset on 9.5" wide rear with a 275 tire.
By the way I like the stripes on yours, I haven't seen anyone else with that color combination.

I am getting the same rims so I am curious. Why did you go with the 35 profile in the front and 30 in the back?

To keep the side wall heights similar since the rear is wider than the front.
The sidewall height is 35% of 245 or 85.75mm in the front
so on the rear it is 30% of 275 or 82.5mm
If I had used 275/35/19 the rear sidewall would have been 96.25mm

I like it. Looks sweet.
Looks really good you also got an awesome deal. I have the 278's was origanally gonna go aza's for vq but like you got charged and guess what they did't have them in stock but still charged me. So had to look else where but over all I'm glad the aza did't work out cause I love the chrome 278's. Coming from a polished wheel on my old z28 I absolutly love how easy chrome is to clean.
