hub ring install question...

do these slide on to the hub first with the lip part of the hub ring butting up against the face of the hub? or do they get popped into the rim bore first? it seems like its the former.

I also read that the tapered side of the hub ring should go on first and face the hub.

I put mine on the wheel first. Although, they usually get stuck on the hub (too lazy for anti-seize) so I just leave them there.

I leave them on the hub, its just easier that way.

Yea.. Probably good to clean the hub and apply lots of grease to both the inner and outter ring. I didn't use enough on my dad's car and they were a serious pain to get back off.
