Hey there guys, I may have no choice but to buy a new set of tires soon. Still running the original bridgestone potenzas from factory, was wanting to get some opinions on what brand I should go with. I was looking at the BF goodrich and Dunlop. Money is a little tight as well, please give some feedback.

I just bought 2 Dunlop DZ101's for my 17's and they are very good imo for being so cheap.

If money is really tight than you can look into Hankooks Tires.. There really cheap. Last I saw they were like $90 a piece.

I just bought tires from Tire Rack, Dunlap SP Sport Maxx 245/40ZR18 for $472.00 delivered. Thay are $105 bucks each plus a $60.00 rebate from Dunlap on 4. The Catch:They are 2005 production, which does not bother me. Current production for the same tire is $219 each! I have only driven them a few miles, but they feel very "smooth", which is not to helpful but the reviews are very good. 5 series BMW owners love them, which works for me!

Man the price difference between for a 17 and 18 inch rim is ridiculous. I'm looking at tire rack right now for the most popular tires that fit my 18's. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 177 a piece, Sumitomo has two different models from 104 to 112 a piece, and two different models from BF goodrich. Pirelli PZero Nero has a sale for 122 a piece.
I may know a guy who can hook me up with a discount on the price of the tires on what I want, going to talk to to him this weekend. If he can hook it up then i'm going to debate between the dunlops and the bf goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2. So guys which two would you pick of those?
Btw anyone notice how expensive bridgestones are? I dont think its worth refitting my GTO with those tires after seeing similar performance on other bands and have the price

they've been sitting on a shelf since 2005? Just be on the lookout for flat spots.

I've heard nothing, but great things about the Star Specs so I'd go with them of those choices you listed.
I just went cheap for now since I plan on buying new wheels so then I'll get the Star Specs.

Thanks for the feedback, the dunlops look just as great and hopefully i get a good deal on either one. If im going to get replacement tires, i still want sometime good to hold me the GTO to the road well.
It just sucks that low profile tires are more expensive then medium, but I wanted the 18's too bad lol.
Btw why would someone put 245 instead of 235 on that size rim?

I was fairly impressed with the sumitumo HTRZ II. They are pretty cheap too. Not the best tire I have ever had, but for the money they were pretty good.

My 245/40 front BFGs rub on the inside of the fender when I turn. The BFGs (which I hear run big) and my rim combo (aftermarket) must not jive with the car/suspension...
Doesn't bother me enough to go down to 235s, that's for sure.
