Ive been looking at something like the otr intake kits, but 04's dont seem like an option JTSnooks 07-24-2009, 05:42 AM You can get the Svede intake, I believe that fits '04s. 5.7L FOREVER 07-24-2009, 05:55 AM what are you looking for in an intake? what do you have done yet? and just to help keep perspective you dont have to add an intake the stock box will support around 500hp or so snakey5138999 07-24-2009, 06:03 AM Ok now the svede intake is something a member makes? or a company makes? i cant seem to find anything about this intake. Its really for looks, as in quality and something exotic like the otr's.... apierce918 07-24-2009, 09:28 AM what are you looking for in an intake? what do you have done yet? and just to help keep perspective you dont have to add an intake the stock box will support around 500hp or so will support maybe, but my stock box on a stock engine showed a little air starvation above 3k rpms according to HP tuner.... i might just have a dirty filter though:eek2: 5.7L FOREVER 07-24-2009, 11:23 AM ^^^ yeah good chance that could have been your prob... it just depends i have put cai on the past three of my vechicles and prob will not put one on my fourth at least not till a good ways down the road... for the difference in power output both on a dyno and buttmeter is not worth the cost to hp ratio and the annoyance of cleaning them. just my 2 cents Summerwolf 07-24-2009, 02:41 PM coldairinductions.com BEST stock location box for any year IMO. PM SVEDE1212 for an OTRCAI....the best at everything possible in a cold air intake. kevinm81486 07-24-2009, 04:23 PM coldairinductions.com BEST stock location box for any year IMO. Then there is svede's which of course is better with only a few trimming of shrouds. 04GTOgtgo 07-25-2009, 07:37 PM What about the New Era Intake? They say 11 whp gain and have dynos to show it. It looks a lot bigger than the K&N too. Just got an 04 GTO and that's what I plan on putting on mine once I have an extra $200 nicrnjc 07-25-2009, 07:43 PM Gravanna makes a CAI for the 04's. It will be either that, coldairinductions, or even just a k&n drop in if stock is good for a while... I like it because it actually makes use out of the front grilles for airflow into the engine. It's the closest respectable thing to "ram air" on the market for the 2004s. flipGTO 07-27-2009, 06:14 PM make your own. its about $80 worth of parts. snakey5138999 07-27-2009, 06:52 PM Im not good with making stuff like that. Plus it would probably look like ish! and i dont like cobbed up parts on my cars.....Atleast his looks like quality. Clark 07-27-2009, 07:17 PM Im not good with making stuff like that. Search for it to check it out. It works well and basically follows the stock intake routing, however, it involves taking a hole saw to the body. snakey5138999 07-27-2009, 08:10 PM ooo gotcha....Yea i dont like "Make-your-own" intakes. Its more of a "rice" thing to me even though it may be cheaper. Ricers buy home depot piping because "its cheaper" and "almost" like the real thing! Thats just my opinion though.....
