K&N the only CIA for 04's???

Did some searching and there doesnt seem to be any other cai's for the 04's besides the k&n fipk and a drop in filter. Is there like a list of CAI's for 04's????

use this link to at least find a couple more options... on this page there is a AEM K&N Lingenfelter for 04s and they are a great company that will take care of you.

You can get the Svede intake, I believe that fits '04s.

what are you looking for in an intake? what do you have done yet? and just to help keep perspective you dont have to add an intake the stock box will support around 500hp or so

Ok now the svede intake is something a member makes? or a company makes? i cant seem to find anything about this intake. Its really for looks, as in quality and something exotic like the otr's....

will support maybe, but my stock box on a stock engine showed a little air starvation above 3k rpms according to HP tuner....

i might just have a dirty filter though:eek2:

^^^ yeah good chance that could have been your prob... it just depends i have put cai on the past three of my vechicles and prob will not put one on my fourth at least not till a good ways down the road... for the difference in power output both on a dyno and buttmeter is not worth the cost to hp ratio and the annoyance of cleaning them. just my 2 cents

:iagree: coldairinductions is the best. Then there is svede's which of course is better with only a few trimming of shrouds.

What about the New Era Intake? They say 11 whp gain and have dynos to show it. It looks a lot bigger than the K&N too. Just got an 04 GTO and that's what I plan on putting on mine once I have an extra $200

No....no heatshield and lots of reported heatsoak and fitment issues.

I like it because it actually makes use out of the front grilles for airflow into the engine. It's the closest respectable thing to "ram air" on the market for the 2004s.

I think he's referring to the much hailed "hardcore intake". Search for it to check it out. It works well and basically follows the stock intake routing, however, it involves taking a hole saw to the body.

ooo gotcha....Yea i dont like "Make-your-own" intakes. Its more of a "rice" thing to me even though it may be cheaper. Ricers buy home depot piping because "its cheaper" and "almost" like the real thing! Thats just my opinion though.....
