View Full Version : Will These Rims Fit without Fender Rolling/Cutting?

I plan on getting some TSW Caldwell rims, 18x8 in the front with 35mm offset, and 18x9.5 in the rear with 45 offset. I plan on running 235/40/18 on the fronts, and 265/35/18 on the rear....Should this rim/tire combo fit with no rubbing issues? I would preffer not to trim the rims or modify the fenders either. Can anyone shed some light on this issue? I did some searching but couldnt figure it out, the answers seemed to be all over the board. If the 265's will rub, should 245's be ok? All help is appreciated

Depends on the tire, but you will likely rub.

It should not rub as myself and GTOGRRRR have the same setup you are looking for with no problems. But he may be right I know some tires run wider than others. What size wheels and tires do you have on your Laguna setup?

18X9 265/40/18 GoodYear Eagle F1. Fenders ground down about as far as they will go. Granted the stock springs were sagging.
I ended up having to install the Pedders "5/16 coils to eliminate the problem.

Maybe it is because you have a 40 series tire on the rear opposed to the 35 that we are running, I don't want to roll but I may have to because I do not really like the thin sidewall/low profile look all that much. If you have a good side shot of your tire can you post! I plan on getting new tires soon and am thinking of going with a bigger sidewall.

The only recent/decent shots with the new 265's are here. {If you don't know, click on the yellow bar above each pic to show full size.}

I see your point about the 35 vs. 40 series sidewall, but with the amount of fender/spring work I did to avoid rubbing, I really don't see that sidewall series having that much of a difference to avoid any fender massaging.

Sweet. Thats the same set up I'm going to run. The correct offset saved the day.

Mine 19s did with the same tire dimensions as you will use. It really depends on how well your rear cradle is aligned and how much rub you can tolerate because it will.

There wasn't much consistency in our cars. I have the same setup as BRAZEN except 275s and mine rub. As long as I pump up the drag bags and go slow on turns its fine.
