Had them on my 04 when I bought it. Quietest tire I have ever driven on. It's an all-season tire with I believe a 40K mile treadlife warranty. For the money it's a good DD tire. Almost bought them again.

$98 installed is dirt cheap for a tire for the GTO.

I paid about $175ea thru Tire Rack for FK452's 265/35-18 in the rears. Excellent tire in my opinion.

That sounds about right. I am currently running 245/45/17 FK452's on my car and bought them about 4 months ago for about 750 mounted / balance/ with replacement certificates from Discount Tire. The tire has been ok so far. You can't expect much traction for such a hard tire.

i think ive just found what will be going on the front of my car.

I could care less about performance, as long as they last a long time and/or are cheap,

I had the Falken 329's (which might be similar, sold through Big O). They had a 30K mile warranty.
Overall, I didn't like them. They were the lightest 18" tire around (check to see if the weight of the 912 is the same). This lightweight was felt in very, very soft sidewalls which when pushed, felt almost like snow tires.
The tires, despite being warranted for 30K miles, were toast after 12K miles. I drive pretty mellow, have upgraded suspension and great alignment. To have these non gripping tires wear so fast was disappointing. I did get a prorated credit, but that didn't help much considering I had to pay mounting/balance fees all over again. The salesman noted that Falken had complaints of poor wear and changed the rubber. If they made this tire harder and even less grippy, I'd want them even less.

hmm, food for thought.
i drive like a grandma, so the sidewall problem should be non-existent to me. Say they do wear quick, they cant be any worse than my previous BFG's, and at half the price it will be a little easier to swallow than the $200+ price tag of BFG's that lasted MAYBE 10k miles!!

Then you'll appreciate the mice thing about soft sidewalls- a smooth ride.
