As far as I remember it just taps into it. That how it was on the previous kits I installed.

No it does not replace the TPS switch. It just bolts onto the throttle body and is activated by the linkage for lack of a better word. When the rocker the linkage is hooked to swings open it pushes down the NX switch and activates the N2O. If you have questions about nitrous, go to one of the F Body boards and snoop around a bit. I have had nitrous on my LT1 for about 4 years now. The NX switch is kind of ghetto IMHO, You have to hook it up kind of half a$$. I got one fromJimmy Jams (http://www.jimmy-jams.com/) much nicer piece.

I believe he's talking about the TPS activation switch, not the mechanical switch that you're describing. It allows you to have an electrically controled switch that turns on the nitrous at a certain tps voltage.
To answer your question, no the NX (or whatever) switch does not replace the TPS sensor, just taps into it.

So, with a TPS activation switch....you don't need a WOT switch anymore, it basically does the same thing only electronically??? Sorry, N2O newb here.

I have the nx switch and it works fine. Not looking for a good looking engine bay just one that works good.
