OK, I’ve been meaning to write a review for SNL for awhile now and I’m a bit late on part of it so I’ll just wrap it all into one thread.

4-6 wks back, I had SNL install a camshaft for me after I decided that for the install price they were quoting, I couldn’t really justify doing it myself. Plus they have had a pretty good reputation so far so I figured I would give them a try.

I spent most of the time there standing around in the shop BS-ing with Jason, Matt, and Steve as well as their other customers. It was nice to be able to ask a few questions here and there and not have to wait in the office which is what seems to be relatively typical these days. Whether the guys do or not, it seemed like everyone generally has fun working there (cracking jokes, ripping on each other, having a good time).

Anyway they installed the cam in a decent amount of time, and the Matt did a quick tune to make sure the car would idle decent and be at a safe AFR currently and also when I got around to installing the CAI, cat back, and headers back home (yes, I put a cam in first… the car was completely stock otherwise). It was Labor Day weekend, so I just told him to get it safe and manageable and perfect it on the retune. Almost forgot to add, I got free Texas Pitt BBQ for lunch while I was there; pretty awesome to get free lunch while there in my opinion.

Fast forward to last weekend, I returned to SNL to get a clutch installed and get my car retuned for the rest of the bolt-ons. Once again, everyone working there seemed to be having a good time, and I just BS’d with the employees and customers as always. Everything went smoothly and with a rev limit set at 6800rpm, Matt was able to squeeze 399rwhp/375rwtq out of my car (mods in sig, note no UDP).

As Matt was finishing up the tune, Steve noticed what he thought was something leaking on my car around 5pm Saturday night. Turned out to be a defect in one of the stainless lines we installed. We were going to pull the tranny back out, but it also turned out to be the last one in stock. Steve gave me some fluid and said, “Come back up here next weekend, we’ll tear it apart, replace the line, and I’ll give you a ported throttle body for free for the hassle.” <--- That right there was impressive. I would’ve come up to get it fixed regardless, because it needs to be fixed. But that’s what great customer service is all about. Oh yeah, free pizza for lunch that Saturday.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I have been and still am thoroughly impressed with SNL both in terms of friendliness, willing to explain/answer questions, and their customer service. The SNL crew seems to strive to have what most companies deem unnecessary. I can honestly say I've never had better customer service from any sort of shop.

I’m not dogging any of the other TX performance shops around here as I haven’t used them (new to the TX area), but for all the shops that I’ve used in the areas that I’ve lived, SNL is by far my top choice. As long as they are in “driving” distance, I will be using them for my performance needs.

Thanks again SNL!!

By the way, what’s for lunch this Saturday?
