just got my new wheels in, the 17 x 7 motoring revs, and my new tires. i ordered nitto 245s, and they sent me nitto 275s. i just checked my reciept, and yep, i was right, i had 245s ordered. i had a damn appointment to get these done tonight, and iam leaving at the end of this week for a car show in wisconsin. this really pisses me off.

i know that the 275s arent gonna fit on 7 inch wheels without bulging.

any tips, suggestions?
i already plan on demanding discount tire to overnight me the right tires.

I think you are on the right track. I def wouldnt try and put 275's on a 7 inch wheel either lol.

Demand them to overnight and find a place to put them on ASAP. Are all 4 tires wrong or just 2? Gte 2 mounted so the job will take less time when you get the other tires!

Good Luck

i just got off the phone with them. they are overnighting the tires to me, but had to charge my card untill they got the wrong size ones back. i understand it, but it just pisses me off even more. i always get paranoid that my refund wont go through correctly and ill end up on hold for 2 hours and get the run around. anyways, i wish i could just go get half it installed, but it will cost me. the two tires on the passenger side are coming off completely, and the two driver side tires are going to the front end. so i would have to pay twice pretty much for the rear end. ill just waint untill tommorow. all i know is those damn 245s better be at my place when i get home.

i should of know this was gonna be my luck too. i guess we can tack on another discount tire screw up to the wall.

ive read of mulitple cases like this. you would think they would get shipping department organized in a better fashion. oh well.

I would give them the option of mounting your stock 245's on the new rims until the correct sized Nittos arrive, or guaranteeing that you'll have the correct sized tires installed by the time you need to leave for the car show.

I've also found that it helps if you're able to maintain your composure and be calm when making demands, as they are more likely to help you than if you're hot and bothered. :)

Id honestly send the wheels back. Youve downgraded from a factory 8" wide wheel, to a 7" Its going to look funny ( IMO ), but its going to make the car very sloppy in the handling and stability department. Even 245s bulge a bit on 7". I promise you will not be happy

dont get me started on them either.. they sent me 4 used wheels. Not only where they used three of them where the wrong offset... grrrrrrrrr.. then they told me they couldnt get the right ones.. I threw a fit and they found me a set and they should be here tommorow.

I have the same exact wheels on my car with the stock tires. I haven't had any issues at all, and the setup looks great! I'm totally happy with how they look, (click here to see! (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=280 47&highlight=motoring) )and plus I achieved exactly what I was going after; Decent looking aftermarket rims (style is subjective to each person) that weighed as much or less then stock (these are 4lbs per wheel lighter), that were inexpensive, and my stock tires would fit, and without any ill effects with driving. The stability and handling on the car feels just the same as when it was stock, and I've had this setup for about 5 months now. I like to have fun when I drive my car, so I would have noticed a change.

Vtodd82, I'm anxious to hear how you made out with Discount Tire, and if you got your rims on yet. If so, how does the setup feel on your car, and have you taken any pics yet?

Why didn't you have the tires installed on the rims by them for free????

my brother had the exact same thing happen on his focus. he went to the local discount tire instead of calling the 1-800 number. the manager apologized, ordered the correct tires in, and had them installed on the car for free AND GAVE MY BROTHER THE LUG NUTS HE NEEDED FOR FREE!

mistakes happen, but they were quick to fix it and i've lots of good luck with them since then. can't seem to beat their prices either.
