View Full Version : Avon Tech M500
Well, since I have the VX GTS 19" wheels coming I want to get a tire with a little softer ride. I read a bunch of the reviews on tire rack and they seems to be positive about the ride comfort of the Avon Tech M500. I'm not looking for an all out performance tire, just something for my daily commute to work and the ocassional spirited driving. Has anyone had any experience with these tires or even this brand?

All I know about Avon and they are from the U.K. or Europe and have been makine tyres for a very long time over there. I believe they make tires for racecars also. They are newer in the US tire market.

Check out their treadwear specs. Not as good as Pirelli or BF Goodrich.

I purchased a set of Avon TechM's and have been pleased. They are quieter and ride better than the OEM BFG's. Price was great, too. They do not have as aggressive a look as some tires, though. They balanced damn near perfect (8 lbs or so run-out on a load-force balancer) so they are really smooth. That is, after they warm up. It's not unusual for my car to sit in the garage for several days at a time without being driven and the Avon's tend to cold flat-spot worse than the BFG's. Not a big deal though since they smooth out within a couple of miles.
This is slightly off topic, but for those of you who have the BFG KDW2. Are they a lot louder than and do they have a harsher ride than the stock tires?
