Hey guys,

On my car I run 18" wheels summer and the stock 17" wheels/tires for winter. Ever since new, the winter of 2006-2007, one of the stock wheels has had trouble holding tire pressure. In spring 2007 removed the OE wheels for summer and had a local shop inspect it. They found a rear rim/bead leak and remounted it. Fast forward to winter of 2008-2009. Still leaking. So they remounted it again with some black sealant stuff. Again spring of this year (2009) still leaking so off to the local dealer this summer to fix. Just checked them again and still leaking, same spot on the rim (confirmed with some soapy water). Back at the dealer tonight to see if the rim is cracked and if it can be repaired/replaced under warranty, which runs out in about a week.

So my questions to you guys:
- Is this a warranty issue or am I SOL?
- Is there a difference between the 2004 paint/wheel and the 2005-2006?
- Anyone have a single, true, used stock 2006 17" wheel with no curb rash or damage on the exposed painted face for sale???

Please help. :morncoff:

good luck with your search. I don't believe this will get covered, simply because they'll fight you to the death about this. You're best bet is to look around on the F/S section and find a single 17" wheel. No their is no difference between the 04 and 05/06 17" wheel. Correct me if I'm wrong.

the onlt diff on some of the 17's was the finish, but i dont think it was a year specific deal. some are just finished better than others and sorry to say, your prob sol. good luch with it. a single 17 isnt that much.

some dealerships work with with you but it is a rare case. be ready to drop a few dollars on a new/used wheel

I could be wrong, but I thought that the 04 wheels didn't have a clearcoat as opposed to the 05/06's that did.

still desing, lug pattern, and size though. i think that is more of what he was looking for

I think you were trying to say is that they are the same design? True, but they wouldn't match.

Jackpot. 04 17's did not have clearcoat on them. 05-06 did.

Ah, thanks, BG06 & SP36. I thought there was something different between 04 & 05-06. I agree, I don't think this will be covered under warranty regardless of the cause. Dealer was cool, remounted and balanced the tire again, this time free (I paid last time), said if I have any problems to come back and they will make it right. But 5th try I think that means I will have to buy a new wheel and they would be happy to re-mount my tire to it at $100/hr labor LOL.
