Looks like it is not going to work up front. Maybe a small wheel spacer will give it some clearance. Nice try. I'm running the 245/40/18's up front on the factory 18's and may have 1/4 inch clearance.

Front with the wheels all the way turned. Rears are fine. It doesnt seem to rub, but with as much variance as the GTO front suspension has, I wouldn't recommend anyone do it without at least a spacer or slightly lower offset wheel. But I've had them on for about a month and no real problems so far...

GTOs don't have struts in the rear

Wait till u loose any tire pressure and then it will rub like crazy! I hope not but I would definitely check tire pressure consistently.
Yikes, I wouldn't want to run over anything and have something get sucked in there.

I would not feel safe like that. If those are still 8" wide wheels, then I would venture to say that the handling would only be worsened by having too large tires for the wheel. Also, they will wear out in the middle, after only about 10,000 miles. 235 to 245 is optimal for that wheel. Now, IMO, I believe you have reduced performance, as well as severely compromised safety by being so close to the strut.
Speedlyte mentioned the tire pressure. I agree also that anything a few #'s of air pressure too low would be a bad thing - a very bad thing.
I have an 8.5" wheel up front (40 offset), and still opted for the 245's, which are in no way stretched to fit the wheel. They are a great fit. In fact, I have double the clearance from the strut as I did w/ the stock 17 wheels.
Please do not drive too far on that little clearance. Anything strenuous, including a wild corner will cause heavy contact, and possibly catastrophic failure, and complete loss of control of the vehicle.
Be wise.

It's dumb. If it was on a wheel that a 265 was designed for it would be cool.

WOW. That looks awfull close to the strut. I would not want to drive around like that. Hate to see something happen to you. Replace those front tires with something smaller
