I contacted AZA and asked them if they would be producing the AZA Z-1 rims in the correct offsets for the GTO... and here was their reply.

"Hi, I'm glad you like this wheel.. I think it looks great on the GTO's. We will be making the right offset by the end of the year. And the 19" will also be available by the end of the year."

So dont go buying them just yet... unless you dont mind running into some minor issues that you will have to work out along the way. :slap:

End of the year?!?! I'm too impatient. I want some of those in 19's.

No more specific dates?

Interesting... but will they follow through!?

Yep...I have been patiently waiting. However, I did not know they were producing the correct offset also. That is great news! Thanks.

I was shocked when they emailed me that... I expected a "sorry, but...." email. I woundnt count on the dates too much since the 19s were supposed to be out in 2 months... but now the end of the year? Oh well... it gives me more time to save my money... that I dont have anyway. :D

Ahh, nothing a little fender rolling didn't take care of.

Of course, 19's would be nice... ;)

Glad I held off this year. 19's are gonna look sweet :)

snafu, would you sell your 18's when the 19's come out? :)

Glad I held off this year. 19's are gonna look sweet :)Yes they are, but holding out SUCKS! By the time the 19's come out, my car will have 30,000 miles on it! Harder to justify wheels for a car you are only a couple of years from trading.

If you go to Wheelmax (http://www.wheelmax.com/) you will already see them listed as availible and in stock for 04/05 GTO's. ;)

I searched Wheelmax.. they don't show Z-1's as available in 19's

Heh heh...not sure yet. My original plan was to go for a staggered 18" up front 19" rear to accomodate the fat ass of our cars...

We'll see...

TypeR has his 18's for sale...check out the for sale section.

Most of the wheels on the the WheelMax website have a 35mm offset. Thats not gonna fit. So much for their guarantee for proper fitment. Wait and see what they say is the "correct" offset for the Z-1's on the GTO

Umm...it does fit. Not much room left, but it fits...I even had 35mm offset on the rear (shipped me the wrong ones first) and I got them to work without ruubbing.

Wheelmax said that you can also have the face of the rim mount milled down a bit, but if I did I don't think I'd got more than 5mm...they ended up sending me the 40mm for the rears, but the fronts remain 35mm (only option for 8.5" rim).

Rim diameter isn't going to change the offset clearances because it's not effecting width or height of the rolling diameter (wheel+tire)...just pick a tire with the proper size/profile ratio. Basicly, the outside tire size stays the same but the rim inside it gets bigger.

It would be nice if they came out with a 48m offset front and 55mm offset rear...either way, you can make the current ones offered fit without too much hassle (just roll or trim your fenders).

With rolling you can eliminate all rub?

I was thinking of getting the Z-1 but I often place 500 pounds of people in my back seat. I didn't lower my car but I'm still worried I would have rub.

I Emailed AZA to find out what they were planning in 18". They said they are now working on castings, but would not give a production date. They did say the 18" would be 8.5" wide and have a 48mm offset. I guess that will work with stock tires (235 40 18) right? Anybody know if they make a good product? I never heard of them before. Are there any other manufacturers making wheels with our offset/bolt pattern etc?

I don't have any and I've had the car full of people. Just takes some fender rolling or trimming.

I've got no reason to tell you otherwise...now if AZA would hurry up and get me my kickback :p j/k

Seriously, they fit.

Knowing that company, I wouldn't hold my breath on the 48mm offset...especially when the 35mm offset 8.5" fits on the front with ZERO issues.

You haven't heard of them because they are a private venture of Wheelmax's (along with a few of their other brands). They are made overseas (taiwan, hong kong, I'm not sure exactly). Quality is surprisingly good...I thought for sure I'd be dissapointed when they got here...after all you ususally get what you pay for...in this case, I'd say you get more. Nice quality wheel...fit and finish is very nice and something that I like is that they paint the inside of the wheel black...so when it gets dirty you can't tell...good idea in my book.

I'd love to go to 19's on just my rears, but I can wait.

Hope that shed some light on it for everyone.

Thats disappointing. 48mm is not enough to put 275s under the rear without rolling. I was really wanting a set of these too, oh well.

I am not sure that any wheel no matter the offset will gurantee no rolling. Different cars could show differently. None the less it would be minimal with a +52 if at all!

There are some companies that make wheels that can use 275's on the rear with no issues.

These are Intro wheels, 9" width with 275's, perfect fit:
