i am wanting to buy a set of custom wheels for my 04 goat, but first i have to get some money, and not having to buy new tires would help my skinny wallet. so if the custom wheels' specifications are exact to those of the stock wheels, can i take out the stock wheels and put the stock tires on the custom wheels(sorry if that's confusing)?do people ever do that? or is that totally stupid? i know if i want good performance i should buy a better set of tires, but thats not really the case; i'm mainly going for looks. and also if that will work...what should the custom wheel specifications be if i want to use the stock tires?

There is nothing wrong with taking off the stock tires and putting them on aftermarket rims.....as long as the tires are the right size for the rim.

I'm assuming a 17" stock rim....so 17" aftermarket rim.
I believe the stock rims are 8 or 8.5".....do a search on this.

Are you ordering these online or buying from a tire/wheel shop. If the latter, I would just go to the shop, show them what you have, and ask for rims that will fit the stock tire.

i am looking and going to buy online, and the site i'm looking at says that "these rims" will fit the '04, but i'm not sure if they will fit the stock tires. so if two different types of wheels have the same spec sizes, then they can be put on the same tire?
