It looks like we are around 13-15 mark right now if everyone I gave the contact info to has already registered. I do not think we'll keep it up at this rate, I think that we'll hit 20 or so in the next few days and maybe only get a few stragglers until the event happens.

I won't be at Mid Ohio but I plan to go to the VIR race October 7-9. I contacted The Racers Group and they are interested in getting the local NC/VA GTO crowd out there.

If you guys have a good showing, they'll be more likely to work with us as well.

Please remember that certain things going on at this event are almost "daytona 24 hour level".... meaning they will love to have smaller events at the races, but you wont see the same access to the engineering staff or this level of hospitality services.

Columbus is about a 1hr or less away but that is past MidOH if you are coming in from Chi town or the west.

Mansfield is the best bet but that is what fills up fast. Mid OH is really in BFE.

Coming in from Chi town i would consider something like Findlay which is 1.5hr away but at least it's not backtracking.

The closest chapter would be the GTOACO of which I am a member, PM for what you need. Also, if there is anyone interested in camping I could accomodate 1 maybe 2 folks in our trailer for the night or you could set up a tent on our sit. PM me...

Exactly, or there are a couple hotels scattered about south of Findlay, i.e. Rt23 and 30.

YOu can try this link..........all the hotel / motels are reasonably close to the track......within 1/2 hr.......but with being a race weekend they were booked 2 - 3 months ago

I once had this kind of trip sponsored thru Marlboro in So. Cal at Riverside Raceway. It was one of the best race/track days I have ever had!

Speed World GT is not going there this season, they are skipping it for some track out west. I think american lemans series will still be there either next weekend or the weekend after that.

jwarren is correct. I have also made reservations at the Amerihost and there are still rooms available, as of 8/15/05 at 1:40 PM EST for both Friday and Saturday night. When I asked how far from the track to confirm the 20 miles thing, the lady who took my info said about 20 minutes and also that the broadcasters stay there.

You will notice this is my first post, been a lurker and studying for the past 6 months or more. Will be ordering or locating an '06 6 speed GTO.

Anyone have the capability to do nametags? Maybe we'll get them from hospitality, so we can put our screen names and real names to get to know one another. It's hard putting a face with a screen name and remembering that persons's real name, at least for me!

Looking forward to the event and will be there with a buddy of mine as well. Should be a great time. Rest assured myself and my friend will be taking plenty of photos.
