Denver - Aug. 14 – Improving on a 16th place starting position, Stu Hayner drove the #5 GMAC Commercial Finance / Trenton Forging GTO to a 9th place finish in today’s SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT race in Denver. The SPEED World Challenge series is participating in the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver.

“All-in-all, I’d have to say I’m pretty pleased with our finish,” said Hayner. “It just seems we were down on power all weekend. The car has been handling well… in fact, the handling is excellent, but it just hasn’t had the snap that you usually feel when you have good power. We made some adjustments after qualifying, and it was a bit better during the race.”

“We had some experience with this track from when we ran here with Trans-Am several years ago,” Hayner continued. “In fact, we were the fastest car in qualifying here in 2003. We had hoped that would be an advantage… and I think it was from a handling standpoint. We’ll take the 9th place and move on to Mosport.”

Hayner’s teammate, Jim Osborn in the #7 Remote Area Medical GTO took home the Sunoco Hard Charger Award for improving the greatest number of positions in the race. Osborn started 23rd and finished 14th.

I doubt thats why they put the hood on, they are ones (AD) that dont have a problem with pictures beening taken. They arent hiding anything, so they dont mind the pics...they probably were just getting ready to go to race.......When they race late in the day, they usually break down most of there setup at the trailor before.......so when the race is over it quicker to get everything done.
