Will they be planning on the black taillights on a red one? I think red taillights would look better on a red car. The other colors, especially black, look SWEET with the black taillights.

Does anyone know if the add-on ashtray will stay powered when the car is off? I hate the fact that I can't charge my cellphone when I am not in the car.

I am relieved to see this. When I got my 05 I was worried that they would make drastic changes to the 06 and I would be pissed. The car is idetical, and I bet that in a few months I could find thos tail light for a few hundred.

(I thought that we already had auto door locks, when I lift mine my passenger side automatically opens or closes. I like the idea of less switches and crap, fewer things to break, and less weight.)

Yea...Bowman swears it's faster but I cant tell the difference. If it is faster, it isn't by very much at all.....

I think the 18" wheel design for '06 is the same as it was for '05. The IBM '06 seems to be wearing them in the photos above, and the Brazen Orange Goat in the Woodward thread has them also.

Power seat seems to be maybe 25% faster... really hard to tell, its still super slow We should have compared them when we had them side by side. (it could have gotten a regular 05 seat as well, as pilots don't always get full hardware... For example the 05 pilots don't have dead pedals!) Yes, same 18" wheels and tires as 05

I didnt know if Brazen Orange and Fusion Orange were the same.
But today I saw a Fusion orange..

No Copper at all to this color just gold/orange and bling bling

Unless that rain is hiding something, they are different by alot

I think they are different, and whoever decided to do Brazen over Fusion is the same dummy that added the middle pillar to the SAP spoiler and other stupid decisions on this car.

Door lock switch????? I thought the locks were awesome with no switches, especially in an A4 since the car locks and unlocks whenever you shift from or to park. That orange looks hott!!! As for the new taillights, they look good considering I was going to buy those, but I thought they were going to be like the ones on the orange gto on the banner above, oh well 06 still ANOTHER GREAT GTO!! must have been a few MYE 's (Mid-Year-Enhancements)
For example- early 04's like mine had a felt pouch with two pockets and a velcro band that the wheel chocks go into. Part way through 04 production they redesigned the foam tray under the spare to locate the chocks.
BTW, I have a strange feeling we will be seeing more of the Brazen very soon ;)

well they put the defog on the button for the people that don't RTFM, since this car doesn't automatically turn on the A/C when you put the thing on defog. I bunch of people whined that it was broken and not defoging the windows :cry:

There's not really a color the car is made in that I don't like yet...I would have rather seen the Orange to be ummm, more orange then copper. It still looks pretty good.

Can't say the same for the new stang, some of those colors are horrible :barf:

What, you don't like puke green as a car color? What's wrong with you, Ford doesn't make mistakes with Mustangs!!! They are the trendsetters. I'm sure 09 GTOs will have the same color options.

one problem with that though was the A/C compressor in my winter car got a bad bearing and it would slip the belt at idle, also dropping the voltage.

It was a real PITA...good thing it was under warrenty at the time $700 to fix if it wasn't :barf:

The door lock button should be...since some have done it on a 2004 already with their own button.

If yours hasn't got it now then I don't think so. Something to do with the later models having an extra wire running thru the steering column. Someone on one of the forums here in Oz suggested changing over to the later model Clock Spring....Whatever that is or what it has to do with I haven't found out yet. :)

I agree (about the copper color).

I saw it in person at the Woodward Dream Cruise from a distance and it looked better than the other colors with the exception of the Impulse Blue :) . But I wished it had more of an orange tint to it. I don't know how anyone can really call it "Brazen Orange" though because it does not really jump out at you. At least that is my opinion.

IMO- '06 tail lights look a bit ricey to me. Remind me of Honda/Lexus/Nissan /etc type taillights. The other little touches are nice though

well there are a few people here that have wired thier own switch in on a 2004 to unlock the doors, and it was not too difficult. Just have know the kind of switch needed, what wire to splice into, and what kind of signal it is looking for to lock and unlock the doors.

maybe for the first few months... really if anyone that has an 04 or 05 wants them, they will buy them and will work and fit perfect. I've seen quite a few say they want them already (since they are scared about the aussie lights not having a reflector or "cost too much")

anyhow the button dosent make any sense considering that the door locks are auto lock and unlock in conjuction with each other. not only that but if it is a window lock button then - wtf- the buttons are all in the center console. maybe it is a secret button for something else.?

Tried the dealer last week and they aren't available yet as parts on the GM computer. In fact, the '06 doesn't even SHOW UP on the GM parts dept. computers yet!

They should have made the seats with a quick release!

When GM called me to do a survey and would I make any changes to the '06? I said;

1. Power plug up front. 2. Faster seats and 3. Door lock button. I know they must have heard the from lots of other owners but maybe I should have said a quick release. ;)

Yup - agree. I was also going to bring this up. The "icon" is the universal icon for power window lock-out. It certainly is the same one as in Honda's... Might be considered a "safety issue" to prevent kids from decapitating their parents (or pets)??

Except, I have never seen a window lock button on a two door when the back windows don't rool down. Plus it would be kinda stupid to put the bottun in the center to keep your passenger from rolling their window down. If they are smart enough to push the button then they are smart enough to push the center one as well.

I wonder if the dealership would be able to install the door lock button feature on older models, like my 04?

Here's a wireing diagram I pulled up from Martins web site. It said 04 - 06 so I do not see why a switch isn't pnp.
