In addition to the other changes we have found (Search for 2006 pilot) we noticed today that in addtion to the steering rack, the pump and the lines have changed as well. This will have an effect on supercharger installations (other than Maggie). That is all!

Can you give us an idea about why the change was made? Just curious...

I have heard it was due to leak/noise issues.

There is a TSB that says if the steering wheel is held to the extream in either direction for greater than 5 seconds, it may burn out the power steering pump. May be this is a correction for this issue.

Sorry, I didn't catch this (looked in the 2006 pilot thread as well)... in what way has the rack changed? Any chance the car has a quicker steering ratio? Please? :)

I want a sunroof!
Check out Webasto the 710? I think thats the model, is the same sunroof as the monaro option. They are dealer installed or HSV installed after the factory. I am thinking about getting one, it looks like a factory sunroof, you do loose alittle headroom though on that model,(doesn't matter unless you are pretty tall)

After the factory? I knew the Monaro now has a sunroof. I really want a GTO w/ one w/out some insane added price point. If I can get a goat w/ a sunroof I'll for sure sell my GTP and move up. That's really all that's holding me back. I love my sunroof.

I think it's possible to get the Webasto Hollandia 710 sunroof (the one the Monaro is designed to accept) installed for less than $2000. Some members here have done it.

So any confirmed info on the new steering rack?
How much faster is it, if any? Can you buy it seperately for the 04/05 GTO's too?

was quoted about $1200 installed for that exact sunroof... a few lucky 04 owners got them already installed by the dealer and the dealer ate the cost...
The webasto 710 is the stock Monaro optioned (dealer or HSV installed) not at the factory installed.
Some dealers will have it done local or do it themselves then you can put it into the finance of the car...
I don't think alittle over a grand is alot of money to add a factory quality piece, installed. I'm sure it had to go though harsh testing to be a dealer installed option, GM N/A makes those company jump through hoops to be deemed good enough....

A fellow 04 Goat owner proved this theory during a drifting event- that day he lost his power steering and the dealer had to replace the pump.

You can get it for $1000-1200 at any Webasto installer. It's a beautiful sunroof.
The power steering pump has been problematic in Oz for quite a while. It's not an item you see fluid coolers on everyday. Of course, the reservoir is in intimate contact with a steel bracket bolted to the engine, so there's an additional source of heat as well.
I have heard it was due to leak/noise issues.
YEP, had my power steering leak on me. Not to bad, but they know about it and it looks like they are doin something about it...are there going to be any TSB's or recalls?
