I am getting my wheels powdercoated in a couple weeks @ $50 per
1 step below black and with a flat finish
I had black powdercoated wheels with a shiny finish on my dakota, but always thought a flat finish would look better.
So here a couple quick chops with the wheels and a quick lowering job

No problem, I dont expcect everyone to like it. I also dont plan on keeping them forever. Its just a quick and cheap way to add a little something to the ride.
I am going to get new wheels after i go the bmr route of notching the trailing arm, new rear shock mounts and so forth.
So until then its powdercoated stockies

In general I have never been a fan of black rims, especially the stock rims painted black, but I have only seen them in photo's which may not give them justice. Personally I think black rims need some chrome to give them some contrast against the tires, otherwise it reminds me of a car with no hub caps.

The rims and tires are the same color so it makes the wheels look like they are dirty.

I'm not a fan of black rims, either.
They just make me want to scrub them clean.

Add me to the "Not feelin' it" list. You like 'em, so that's all that matters.

i think it looks pretty sweet, but i think a gunmetal gray would look better. where are you getting the wheels done for 50 per rim? every place up here in scv wanted close to 400 or so. they have to strip them first and prep them, which made it more i guess.

Dont believe their BS
For painted wheels, it takes only a few minutes in a bead blast cabinet and the wheels is ready for powdercoating. 1 guy could probably prep all 4 wheels in 30 min, maybe less.
As far as color choice gunmetal CAN work, i just wanted something a little darker. The problem i have with gunmetal is the the hue of the gunmetal needs to be perfect or it clash with the silver paint very easily.
A local shop here in town is doing them, you should be able to find a place closer to $50 a wheel, thats a pretty standard price.
