Those of you that did the grease/tape test to see where your wheels were hitting your fender lips...

How far forward did you find that your tires were rubbing? I've seen that some have found that their tire rubbed where the back bumper meets the fender, but how far around the fender do I need to go?

Assuming we're looking at the driver's side rear tire, I've tentatively got my line drawn from where the bumper meets the fender to about 10 o'clock on the fender. Is that far enough around?

I ended up taking off (grinding down) probably half of the stock lip from about the 10 o'clock position to the 2 O'clock position.

That turned out to be plenty.

Did you see where your tire was rubbing before grinding, or did you grind in anticipation of rubbing?

i cut my fender lips from the 10 to 2 o'clock position also and sent it to the body shop for them to apply seam sealer to the cut areas and it looks factory, nice and smooth

I rolled, the cheap way... with a rubber mallet from about 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock before I put grease on it. With the grease, I found it was hitting where the bumper met the fender. Hope this helps.

p.s. I would reccomend cutting from the start. Easier and looks way better.

From the responses so far, it seems that the most common rub point is where the fender meets the bumper. Sadly, that looks like the hardest area to work a good cut on. I ended up cutting from half to two-thirds of the lip off from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock on both sides, starting where the fender meets the bumper. I guess if I have rubbing I'll have to look at grinding that spot down somehow.

Thanks!

Sorry,

Holiday weekend. Didnt check back in on this thread. I was rubbing on both sides from 10 to 2 basically. Not much and only under very extreme suspension movement, but hitting none the less.

At worst, it was 1-2mm.

Thanks for following up. I've had my new wheels and tires on for a few days now and haven't noticed any rubbing. I haven't done any extreme acceleration yet, but I've taken a few sharp turns.
