I hopefully, if i can get time to drive 4 hours to a dealer, will have a gto by this weekend. I have been reading the forums non stop looking for different things to get for it, and wheels have been something that im still debating. I really like the black c6 wheels, but I was thinking possibly m3 wheels, I did a 10 sec paint shop cut and i think it looks nice what do you guys think? Dont bmw's have the same bolt pattern?

Same bolt pattern: yes!
Same offset: no! (not usually)

And therein lies the problem. Stock gto offset is 48mm and most bmw rims are 15-20mm or so which means your wheels are sticking out unless you get some really skinny wheels.

I'm trying to see what it's going to take to get some 5x4.75" (fbody, vette) wheels to work since fbody offsets can often be found around 50mm ie perfect!. Technically a 5x120.65mm pattern which doesn't quite match, but an argument could be made that they are basically the same (only a few thousandths of an inch difference). Still working on that though. Please guys, no flaming: I'm still looking!

Most bmw rims are also crazy expensive though too!

There is a company out there called OE Replica that makes an M3 wheel in an 18x8 with an offset that is said to work on the GTO (I believe it is +40, can't remember for sure) according to Discount Tire. They are the same style as above but those look like you made them 20"ers...

They also have these on EBay ALL the time...

For example:

Those would fit PERFECTLY with a set of CSiJason's hubrings.

Buy wheels for a 3 series bmw, or the front wheels from an e46 m3, and you have a match.

Why would anyone want to put BMW M3 wheels on a GTO?

Because they're attractive, tend to have a dish, and you can lose the BMW centercaps? I don't know. I really like that particular style.

M3 wheels are the wrong offset, however other 3-series wheels will fit.

do they make a 9" front wheel? Seems like they would put a 50mm offset or so which would be nice on the rear.

Not as far as I know. 8's on the front, and 9's on the rear. The rears are et21 I believe.

the fronts would be fine. the rears would rub on the rear fenders no matter how much rolling/machining/polishing one does. my last five years in the tire/wheel business was with butler tire in atlanta.
