has anyone tried to have a drivetrain component repaired under warranty after having nitrous or a blower or your car? i know that if you run spray you can easily take it off prior to taking it to the dealer for service if you break a major component. if you have a clean install, and uninstall, can they void your warranty with out proof you had a power adder. i am thinking of adding some hp to my car and nitrous offers the best bang for buck but i don't want to void my warranty. any experience with this?

If the motor is blown apart due to a faulty nitrous install or bad setup it will throw a red flag for the dealership and service writer. All it takes is a simple oil test to find out if you ran nitrous. They can also tell by the pistons and combustion chamber if they know what they are looking for.

If you nuke the motor you'd need to change the oil. Flush it out, and put new oil in. Then, if you can run the motor let if move the new oil around. Then, hope to god they don't find any traces of nitrous.

Or, you need to find a shady dealership that will overlook poweradders so they can write a service ticket and make some money on warranty claims. But, if the nitrous is setup correctly you shouldn't nuke the motor. If you have the proper safety equipment such as a WOT switch, bottle warmer, fuel pressure safety switch, larger fuel injectors, ample fuel supply, and a window activation switch (for 6spd cars), and a nice tune.. the car shouldn't have any problems.

I ran a 125 shot on my LS1 Z28 for 15,000 miles before I put in my forged heads and cam setup. Never had one problem. But, the new motor is a nitrous setup, and Ive only put 1-2 bottles through it. Most went out the purge valves. :D
