I have it, it's in Pontiac Enthusiast, 1500 HP GTO, it's nuts.
Also has a nice spread on a meet with like 30 judges.

Is it me or does the body look narrowed? And what's up with the side windows? They look way too big/out of proportion.

I was there that day. The car left really soft. There's a lot more in that car. It was also 85+ degrees out.
I believe that's Ronnie Duke's car.

Yep. Ronnie Duke. He tried every trick in the book to break 7 flat that day, but it wasn't in the cards. His intercooler reservoir is the size of a dorm room refrigerator.

Its a Bickle Pro-Mod car .... it just happens to have an LS1 in it.
I'd love to build the same car and put a Turbo on it instead however there is no real use for it. Other than a few events and to maybe try to beat Ronnie.
Now only if I can talk Pontiac into sponsoring my idea so I can acctually do it :D

its basically a custom car body on a tube chassis,,no relation to a street car in any way except for the body resemblance.

Kinda strange that the P/S cars Jerry built all have a different side window/door configuration. Take Greg's GTO for example:

However, I think Don Ness had a lot to do with how all the NHRA GTO's look. Just my opinion but I like the look of the P/S cars better - looks more like the stock GTO body lines.

Ronnie runs the P/M car ... I've seen both the pro mod and pro stock in person. Pro stock is not nearly as close to a real GTO as the pro mod is.

No but Don did do the majority of body work/design for the Pontiac pro stock program along with Five Star Race Car Bodies. If you're interested in the development process, check out this article from NHRA.com. (http://www.nhra.com/apcm/templates/news_template. asp?articleid=6043&zoneid=8)

If you want your own race-ready P/S body, check out Five Star's website. (http://www.fivestarbodies.com/)
Now have Hass or Bickle to build you a rolling chassis. Go find a 500ci monster motor and you're good to go! :burnout:

You used to be able to tell because Pro Mods rarely had rear head and tail lights but its becoming the norm..
NHRA P/S has temples so the body looks stock, last i knew one tail light has to work other than that they are they because of rules

Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. The W2W site states Casper with an LS1 did a 6.86 way back in '96.
If anything is going to break or set door-slammer records, it's Mike Moran's cars. Something's not adding up here...
Edited: The GTO is supercharged, the W2W car is TT. Perhaps the turbo and/or outlaw stigma has something to do with the W2W car not running an "official" NHRA time or something gay like that.
Mike Moran of Taylor, MI referring to goal of future door-slammer in Oct. 2004 Hot Rod Magazine: I will run 5s.

Clarifaction.
Mike let us borrow Casper to test the limits of the LS based engine platform. He is a long time friend of some of our guys.
With 360 inches, factory 6.0 block, factory style AFR heads and two turbos we made 1697 hp on our engine dyno.
All of our guys pitched in spare parts and time to try and obtain the first 6 second time slip with the LS based engine platform
On 8-15-05 we met our goal with many sub 7.5 second passes prior.
On the 6.86 pass the math figures out to just over 1900 hp at the crank.
For the most part anything the other guys are doing is reverse engineered from our products considering they were a client at one time.
And, The harcore guys are using some C5R stuff in a purchased finished brand new chassis as to our 10 year old out dated chassis, and more production representitive parts.
We have full write ups about our record in the latest issue of Hot Rod, Engine masters, and Heads up racer.

Casper is Mike Morans old Car. W2W said that Casper ran in the 6's with a Big Block Chevy back in the 90's. Not an LS1. The LS1 wasn't even around until late 96 and only in Vettes. Just clarifying some confusion. ;)

The Hardcore Motorsports GTO is NOT a Bickel car, it is a Chris Duncan car. I did the tinwork. Its a full tilt IHRA/NHRA legal double-framerail 25-1E chassis.
http://www.chrisduncanracecars.com/
http://www.geocities.com/datinmanjay/index.html
There are two bodies for the GTO.
the Promod body was based on a production car it is stock width and height, as for the abnormal side windows, we found out the nose was not tall enough from the top of the fender down, so we had to lower the doors to compensate. Unfortunately you can't lower the roof at the same time, as this would require a new chassis (most of which is complete by this time) so the windows get bigger. I don't know for a fact but it looks like Bickels guys had the same problem. This body wasn't the nicest piece I seen.
The 5 star body is scaled down all the way around, so it looks to a stocker, but a little smaller. I haven't been up close to one but I'm sure its a much higher quality piece than what we got!

Caveman is talking about our LS1 test car which is Mike's out dated casper chassis and Kurts 352 inch twin turbo Gen 3 that cut the 1.09 short time. Not a pro Mod car.

turbo motors in pro mod are cool, but what happend to Anette Summer ? or other turbo entries, they were supposed to be guarenteed 5 second cars 4 years ago. Instead they ran middle the pack.
Not saying anything bad about 600ci turbocharged motors, i'm am annoyed NHRA pro mod is limited to runnning a top alcohol motor (generally).

Turbo motors have a lot of potential, You can get a competitive blower motor and you can get a comparable nitrous motor from many places, there aren't any "crate" turbo motors. None has run them in this type of competition before, so they are still in the infancy stage. I hope the turbo guys stay after it, they are going to get a lot faster!
