#65 Placed 3rd and is in the lead for the series points - edged out a GT3 for 3rd place on the last lap - I was on the edge of my seat :)

#64 Placed 6th after having to come in to replace a smoking battery.

Good Job Mark, Andy, Paul, Jan - Bill and the rest of the team at TRG :)

Was there a post listing the TV time(s)? Was SPEED the one's who braodcast it originally. If so I can do a search over there for re-runs. Nevermind, I see there is another post 2 posts below this one with all of the information.

Thanks,

Todd

I watched it on Speed channel. I just about made the trip to VIR to watch but work as usuall gets in the way. I would really love to see the GTOs get a series win for the season.

Do the GTO.R's in that series have to run a restrictor plate? Are they (#64 & #65) the 6.0L V8's? In June when I went up to The Glen to see the Rolex Sports Car series, I was talking to the guys running the #23 GTO and they said that they have to run the 5.7L V8 since their chassis is based on the 2004 car (or something like that). I was surprised to see that the GTO.R (#65) not be able to pull harder away from that Porsche on the straights than it did. It looked like it was only "walking" away from the Porsche (a couple MPH faster than the Porsche).

I have not seen or heard in person the TRG GTO.R's, but I will tell you when I saw the Rolex series in person in June at The Glen, IMHO without a doubt the #23 GTO had the badest ass sounding exhaust there! Period. The only car that came a "close second" was the Maserati V8 Coupe. The Daytona Prototypes with the Pontiac V8's sounded good, but the #23 GTO was very distinctive and very bad-ass! :D

Full thumbs-up to all the GTO's running. The announcers at the end of the race said that the Rolex Sports Car series is getting more popular as they have requests to run 23 more cars in the GT class next year already! Two of them they said are GTO's for a total of 6 in the field I believe! :) They said that they might be looking to do more races or higher venue tracks, etc. That will be cool. :)

Does anybody know what happen to that 17 year old cat driving the Ford powered gold Crown Royal Daytona Prototype that cracked up and totalled the car on the last lap? Was he alright? They never did show any replays of that?... What happened?
