I decided to go with the Avon MT550 A/S. I did a lot of research on tires rescently , and these Avon MT550's, seem to be the best ultra high performance all season tires. I live in New Jersey, so I need an all season tire. I am either going to stay with the stock size 245/45/17, which would be going on the stock rims. I wanted to go wider, but stick with the same size all around so I could still rotate them. I was also thinking about 255/40/17. I have a little bit of the strut rub problem, but very minor, no wearage on the tires due to the rub, just from checking once and awhile, I see the upper strut mounts have a few scratches on them, but thats about it. With a 255/40/17, will I rub more or less? I figured less, because the tire is not as tall. Also with the 255/40/17, will it ride a lot harder, because I would like to keep the ride quality where it is at now. Another concern is going wider, will that make it rub, because I heard a lot of guys saying we tend to get the strut rub when taking sharp turns fast. Any advise would be great.
