So I'm at the dealership today, checking out the Solstice my parents bought (sweet looking car, btw). Anyway, they've got an '05 GTO on the floor with the autocross grilles and spoiler, and aftermarket wheels. Wish I could remember the jack for the grilles/spoiler, I think it was like $375 and $675. But what stunned me was the wheels/tires were $2175. Not sure what the wheels were, since I'm not big into the aftermarket, but they looked almost exactly like the Mustang Bullitt wheels, which list on Tirerack for $144 each. The tires, you ask? BFGoodrich g-Force KDWS, 245/45/17.
I really hate dealerships. Anybody know of a wheel of this type that would fit the GTO? I'd love to walk in there and give them crap about charging $2175 for a $700 set of wheels, not to mention keeping the stockers (which I assume they do).

No, like this one, but with a different center cap:

Wonder where they got them...
To the best of my knowledge, the only one that looks like that is the American Racing Torq Thrust II. Except that they don't make them in the GTOs bolt pattern. I wonder if they got a set with the F-body bolt pattern and stuck them on there?

They'll do custom backspacings and such but won't do our bolt pattern. I emailed and asked them, money no object, how much would it cost for a custom set of 4 TTs and they said they weren't interested in doing them and had no plans to do wheels for the new GTOs in the future.

Well, they definitely weren't chrome, they were of the gunmetal/anthracite variety, but it could have been a variation on those...the center cap had some sort of Corvette-like logo, kind of a crest with checkered flags sort of thing. I didn't see any manufacturer's logo on Tirerack that matched.
Maybe I'll go back there and ask them what wheels they are.

Forgot about those.
Were they 17" or 18" wheels? Please let us know if you find out what wheels they were. Thanks.

Dealers will do anything they think they can get away with. I saw a local dealer put $795 sticker for custom exhaust on a 04 silverado SS. What custom exhaust you ask? A flow master muffler welded into the stock exhaust system. The privlage of buying a vette from said dealer $15,000.

Went back there today. Turns out they are indeed Bullitt knockoffs from an outfit called Wheel Replicas. The center caps were Corvette caps.
The parts guy I talked to told me they had all kinds of problems getting the wheels to fit. Then the service manager said "no, that was the other one. This one bolted right up."
Uh-huh.
Anyway, we're talking $2195 for $500 worth of wheels.

I'll bet they aren't 5x120.
Bullitt knockoffs on a GTO? Blasphemous!

I picked up my 17" chromies yesterday. Dealer charged $1500 for the chrome dip, claimed it was done in CA. I got the dealership to pick up half the tab so I don't think I did too bad. They really look nice on my silver GTO, much nicer than the undipped IMO.........

I hope y'all aren't getting the impression that I'm considering getting these wheels. I just wanted to find out how badly the stealership's trying to screw somebody on them.
I'm not big on aftermarket wheels in the first place, but stock wheels from another car - especially a 'Stang - is just stoopid.

how the hell do they get them to fit w/ the different offsets.
I have Bullitt knockoffs on my grand prix, but no way would those puppies fit a GTO even if in the 120.65x5 BP.

dealers tend to charge dubble wholesale. so kdws will sell for 260 each. crazy i know. wheels are huge profit TT2's would be close to a 1k eash from a dealer.
gto is 4.72" TT2 can be had with 46 offset and 4.75 patteren. thats a iffy fit
