I had a set of nittos on my Z28 that had a patch in one rear and a plug in the other. i made 20+ passes on them with no issues.

Most people wouldn't use them for liability reasons. Drag radials normally are abused during their lives. Some people feel any potential risk isn't worth it.

yes they can be patched, however you do lose a speed rating for every patch you have... as long as they're patched properly, theres no reason you cant drive the hell out of them...

Personally I wouldn't race on a patached tire! But thats just me, I would rather spend the extra money on getting a new tire!

I would replace it. Doing over 100mph in the 1/4 on a patched tire to me is asking for trouble.

Those are the same tires I run on the street. Very nice tread and ride very good! I can't attest to them hooking because I dunno that there is a street tire that will hook up with my setup. But they will last a while. I have over 3k on mine and they still look brand new!

Got them put on. They fit a lot better then the BFG drags.
But Discount Tire damaged the lip my rim when they installed it. They want to see if a wheel should can fix it but I dont want a refinished wheel. I told them I would split the cost (there cost) of a new rim. Lets see what they say on monday.

dang i hate that. and them signs dont mean much xx is not responcible for damaged rims ect. enough people belive it to make them worth putting up. it pretty much takes faulty equipment to damage a rim.

I averaged 8-10,000 miles and 80-100passes on each set of Nitto drags on my LSC..

I had good results here too on my Z28. Only about 50-60 passes, but 15,000 street miles.

Instead of patching the tire, use a plug. I have had excellent results using rubber plugs in tires for a long time. I am sure it would work just fine on a drag radial. You just use that round file and smooth the hole out, place the rubber plug on the special tool and push it in the tire and pull out. It stays in and the rubber cement keeps that sucker in place.
I got a bolt in a tire on my yukon, 285/60/18. It was about 3/8" around and i managed to plug it and I didnt have one problem with that tire all the way till it was damn near bald. Thats also with lots of 4 wheeling in the mountains and many road trips.
