We took the project car to the track this weekend with an optimistic high 10 second goal in mind. We upgraded our converter to 3500 stall speed and were planning on testing our new progressive NOS controller. It was 74% humidity and 94 degrees out. The track temperature was 114 degrees with no wind whatsoever. Our best pass to date had been an 11.35@119mph but that was back in February with 60 degree weather. Regaurdless of the heat, we widdled our way down from 11.85 to 11.23 just by varying launch rpm and NOS activation times. It was looking like we could have made our goal but the posi went out on the next run and the next 3 passes the right rear just went up in smoke.
Anyway, here is the video of our quickest pass - VIDEO (http://www.bmrfabrication.com/11.23.wmv)
Even though we took about 80 lbs. out of the car, we added much more with the roll bar, subframe connectors, and two 25 lb. nitrous bottles. With driver, the car weighs in at 4085 lbs!

All things considered, that is great! At 3725 stock advertised weight parked without a driver (and I wouldn't rely on that figure too much) That means you gained 360 pounds net even after reducing 80 pounds. Wow.

Very nice runs. Congrats.

This is good to know - wonder if this is the first weak link?

We were 3785 stock, removed 80 lbs., add a 180 lb driver, 60 lbs in nitrous bottles and plumbing, 26 lbs in subframe connectors, and around 100 lbs in rollbar, harness, and other safety mods required by the track (driveshaft loop, battery disconnect, etc.) and it added up fast!

Could you explain this mini-tub thing?

Could you explain this mini-tub thing?
The inner wheel tub is cut and moved in 1.5". This allows a 10" wheel to fit in the wheelwell by using a wheel with more backspacing.
