Ok guys, project for class was to build my own computer with a budget. Well everything is finished but I want to know something I am not too sure about. For the motherboard that I chose, it reads Memory: 4 DIMM slots DDR400, and for my system memory, it reads 2x512MB DDR2700 333MHz, would they work together?

yes sir, your mobo just supports ram speed up to 400mhz, which I believe is PC3200.

Did the mobo specs say they were 186-pin slots?

That combo is $30 cheaper at mwave.com. Are you supposed to be looking for prices, or did you just give me that site to check the specs?

IIRC DDR slots are 186-pin and DDR2 slots are 200-pin. These look like 186-pin and that's what you've got.

Also, IIRC not all mobos are backwards compatible with slower RAM. I'd check into that if I were you. Mwave.com shows when a motherboard will take more than one speed of memory (if you look at the Abit boards, it says they'll take DDR400/333/266 etc) but with that ASRock board, it only says DDR400. I don't know if mwave.com gets that info from the manufacturers or what, but I'd double-check that if I was you.
