Well, Crane Cams has it! Spirit of Daytona that is! If you are coming to PRI, you’ll get a chance to see the new 2006 Pontiac GTO built by Spirit of Daytona Racing™ that will compete in the Grand Am Sport class for the 2006 season. The car, painted in the awesome Crane Cams colors with our name dominating each side, will be unveiled December 1st at the show and be in our booth (# 4101) the rest of the week.

Crane has been working with Spirit’s owners, Troy Flis and Doug Goad, in the development of the GTO, featuring the GEN III LS1 engine, enhanced by Crane’s new Mikronite® metal finishing process that not only enhances the residual compressive stresses of the valve train and other components, reducing wear, but it reduces friction and heat build-up as well. Troy and Doug have come up with a clear valve cover so you can look right in to see this spectacular valve train that looks like it came from a jeweler (no chrome involved).

Crane’s new performance package will come as standard equipment on the Spirit of Daytona Grand Am Cup Series racecars. Spirit of Daytona Racing is a winning race team with two American GT class Driver Championships, two American GT class Team Championships, and one American GT class Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona victory. The Spirit of Daytona is the Grand American Series all-time leader in class victories.

Crane is proud to be associated with Troy and Doug, and we look forward to an exciting season starting right here in Daytona in late January and running through early October of 2006.

That's not the stock wing is it? It seems to hang to far off the back. Maybe it's just the angle and the fact that I haven't seen the stock wing in a while.

That is the RK Sport rear wing, slightly modified to meet spec. Its beautiful when you see it in person, I just ordered it for my car!
