Interesting that there is no rear spoiler. And what is that red knob on the dash? Nitrous button? :D

Looks like pre-production model pics. Notice no dead pedal in the interior.
Disappointed that there is no gauge pod on the 05. :(

I think the spoiler is standard on the 05. I was told by my source the spoiler would be an optional delete item. But that now appears to not be the case. Interesting that the "Official" pics show no spoiler. The hood scoops are standard, but can be deleted when you order your 05 GTO.

Did anyone notice what seems to be a manual seat knob on the bottom right of the last picture? Me thinks something is amiss with these pictures...

The latch is still there - you can just make out the edge of it at the right side of the bottom picture.
It is just as likely that the dead pedal is there but blocked by the edge of the black body panel (you all have heard of this thing called perspective right?).http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/attachment.ph p?attachmentid=2311&stc=1

These are official GM photos. And the knob...well, don't worry about it. :)
I'm sure the pedal is there. You need to look straight down from the seat position to see it.
I'm not sure but it looks like there is a button next to the T/C button. At least there seems to be text on what is the blank button on the 04. Would anyone know if the added a door lock button to the car?

Hey maybe that red button on the dash is the "tiger button". What is that you say? Well, in 1970 the GTO could be had with an optional exhaust cutout feature on the dash. Push out and the exhaust would open for that aggressive open pipe sound, push in and back to stock. :D

The red button is probably the gas door. Same as 04, but maybe made red because
people were pushing it at the wrong time thinking it was something else.

If you look close the gas button door is still there.

I want to say thats a powertrain mule, and the red button is the system kill button IE fuel and spark. Wierd, my photos HAVE the spoiler, photoshop anyone?

I was originally going to say that it was a photoshop but having inspected the pictures close up I am no so sure.
I think it's actually that a picture was taken with and without the spoiler. There is a shiney area on the right side of the trunklid of the vehicle that does not have the spoiler - this could be reflection of one of the spoiler's mount points. Also, the shadowing on the trunklid is different between the two pictures. Also, the lighting of the the spoiler seems to match up with the lighting on the rest of the vehicle.
The only thing that makes me wonder is the way the left side of the spoiler doesn't seem integrated with the rest of the image - it sort of sticks out they way you'd expect a photoshop to...But that could just be the light on the upward curved edge. I can't personally say.
The cars *do* have the same license plate but I'm not sure if that means anything or not since it's marketing material.

The "red knob" is commonly found on pilot vehicles.

Thanks!

It's an 05 with the Autocross kit, but it's been photoshopped.

i think the first couple pics are just a photoshopped monaro (it has the same rear as our new monaro is going to have) or maybe some kind of preproduction test car where they were just playing around with the looks.
gee, i hope you get the footrest, i'd die without one with all the driving i do. and its a wonder you guys dont have climate control. is our system not compatible because we use celeious not farenheight (spelling lol) and the system is onyl available in celcious???
last thing, dont you guys think that the cars sit a bit high? i wouldnt mind them if they were lowered. do you have an option on FE2 suspension? bigger rims also wouldnt go astray.

Aussie Bloke, the only difference between the GTO and Monaro in the chassis department is the wheels/tyres. They have the same FE2 Coupe suspension we do. The difference in appearance is the smaller rims/higher sidewalls and the altered nose and rear-end valance makes the car look higher.

I really hope we're getting the gauge pod the 05 Monaro is getting.

http://www.wieck.com is the offical GM photograhy site. Go into the public section, then choose Pontiac, then finally GTO. Will find two shots of the 2005 GTO with spoiler. As far as photoshop chnages to the picture, keep in mind that GM does it all the time. Just look at some of their catalogs, same pictures year after year, but with diiferent wheels, emblems or even colors.

I really love the no spoiler look. It adds to the smooth lines of the car. It kind of gives the car a more sofisticated(sp?) look. Either way it is beautiful.

Its the E-stop button. It works better than the emergency brake. In case of emergencies, depress, and car will stop dead in its tracks. LOL
