Does anyone have inside info if this is going to be the new dark gray color offered for next year?
Or is this another version of blue?

I'm not diggin teh dark charcoal colors on sports cars. The Graystone metallic they over on SE Grand Am's is now available on the GT's for '05, I thought this would be a good look, well, I saw one today and it looks like barf.

Silver is always good for sports cars, charcoal....mehhh

Here's Barbados. If it's really close, it could explain why they cancelled Barbados. Below it is what is called Turbine Grey in Oz which might be the color for the 05. Perhaps out friends down under can enlighten.

ummm ford australia and holden australia often if not always change the coulours from model to model. to help the appeal through oh i want the new one kind of thing. it also can make some older colours more sort after because people like them but find them hard to get and can mean that some colours can have a resale alot different to the same car of a different colour.

Often the reds etc. might not change but the unuslual colours almost always change and every second series the colours all change atleast a little.

here is the colour. im almost certian its a new colour and i have a pick of it on a new crewman ute and you can see the back of a new astra in one of them aswell.

I like the charcoal color, too. I'll be happy with either charcoal or the gray we see in these Monaro pictures. Either one is fine. I ordered the Cyclone grey knowing it could be either one. Like black, but don't like all of the work. Tired of silver, have that now. I'll post what I find out as soon as I get it.

You will not see the Turbine on a GTO - it was a limited edition Holden colour for '03 CV8-Rs which like the Pulse Red is a once-only, and you get the same colours as us - now the rear shell is the same they don't even have to differentiate them until they start bolting the LHD or RHD interior kit and the motor in.

If you look closely at the Barbados under the clear topcoat (not evident unless you are close enough to touch) you can see purple and green mica as well as silver in the base colour. I think the basecoat on the Cyclone will be grey with blue mica in the clear, giving it the blue cast.

The coloured mica is what gives these colours the ability to apparently change. Sometimes mine looks blue, sometimes sea green, sometimes purplish, sometimes in bright sunlight almost eyeshadow power-blue.

My car in the avatar and Old Goats car, above, are the same colour, just in different light and taken by different cameras.

I wonder, did anyone ever notice the GTO on the front of the "Getting to know your new GTO" pamphlet? It's grey...I wonder if that's the 05 grey color?

isn't the blue shown above in trishields post actually just a monaro or a monaro 2 colour. The rims look like monaro 2 rims 2 me. I think the new blue will be simmilar if not the blue that is shown on some of the ss spyshots. you will know soon enough.
interior and exterior colours of the GTO will probably be exactly the same as the monaro's offerings and yes mica makes it "change' in different lights. Thus why it looks sooooo good in the skin. When monaro gets officially released in the next few days i think ... their should be a full palate of colours on display which will look really crappy on the web site and every one will be like what the .... Then they will see the colours in the flesh mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

From what you are always whining about you don't give Nevada, (Vegas) area dealers the time of dday anyway, so I will sell mine to someone else who appriciates a honest dealer who sells at honest prices like the 4 others I have sold since May.

Thanks for your time though.

I would not base much from that........the impulse blue on there is not even close to the actual color of the car.

This is true, but at least we know the Cyclone is likely the light grey above (gray) and Trishield's post above of the SIII Monaro is likely the dark blue. I don't think it's a current or recent Commodore colour, as Delft and Vespers are nothing like as dark. There was a fairly dark blue back in 2000/2001 from memory, but not that dark.

Base Astras come in Nocturno, a very dark blue but that comes from the Belgian Astra plant and they have their own colours not analogous to most Holdens.

None of these colours translate well to web shots. It's so dependent on light and camera, not to mention reproduction conditions.

I think that Trishield's shots were a Vespers, I originally pulled those shots off www.carsales.com.au . As you say, the light can be deceiving.

Have a look at

http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/action/colourtrim?modelid=6000

The colour you get as Cyclone is probably the one listed here as Odessy.
