you very well could be. i have not seen close up pics of the autocross rims. but they look similar. so you could be correct.

IF those are the 18's Pontiac offers, then I'm a buyer. Not to hurt anyone's feelings, but, those wheels should have been on the car from day one. I often think alot of decisions, within car companies, are made by people who are not "car guys" OR is it just good marketing knowing that they can sell alot of these (IMHO) better looking wheels in the future?

another thing to remember is that the 04 GTO was RUSHED. therefore they did not have time to fully think through all decisions (ie, hood, intake, etc). they also learned of what people wanted AFTER the 04 came out and people started complain. hindsight is 20/20

To be fair, all the critics told GM not to mess with the Monaro too much for the US, and that's exactly what they did. They went with 17s to make the ride a little more pleasing for the US market.

I think the 18s the GTO will offer are the same as the 2005 Monaro's 18 wheels.

In a "perfect world", I would have the 18" Monaro wheels (option) downsized to 17" for the better "ride". The pavement conditon in this world sucks.

Those wheels are from the 2003 monaro....

I have the new wheels magazine in front of me and the 2005 Monaro wheels are different to any other year and any other Holden. Not a radical departure from the above but different nevertheless.
