Is it dangerous to run that size tire on that size wheel? And if it is why? Also what are the other problems that could be encountered with running that combo?

in theory... yes, but there are a few tires that run narrow (Nitto, M/Ts) and will fit. though these companies still recomend a 9 inch width. no way will 275s with any rim fit on the front, but if you're talking back only on stock rims, stick with Nittos.

I happen to like the way a 275 looks on a 8 inch rim and it gives the rip lip a little protection too. I have 275 falkens in the rear of mine no problems no rubbing.

I have 275's on 8.5" rim and it's pushing it. I don't think I'd put them on an 8" rim.

For drag wheels - sure. For driving around on the street? Not a good idea. For any racing involving turning the steering wheel? Fuhgeddaboutit.

as stated, i've noticed you can get away with it with 275 nitto drag radials. they are DEFINITELY narrower than the 275 BFG KDWs i had on the front of my Z28. (they look to be 10-20mm narrower side by side)
a "full size" 275 would probably work, but honestly, i think it looks a tad stupid.

dont say no way I have seen it. . 275's all the way around with Kumho V710's the guy used a 1/4" spacer up front. and they were on stock rims since he was running Stock class.

The tires should wear really poorly and the rim won't be at stable with all that weight not being over the sidewall. Here is a pic of both a 245 and 275 on the same 8.5" rims and a pic of 275's on an 8.5". It's really pushing it, no way would I do this on an 8".
