I am thinking about replacing my stock 17 wheels and tires with the Holden Monaro VZ wheels, along with Toyo Proxes 4 tires- 245/40/18 size. That size appears to have almost the same diameter as the stocks, so the speedometer will still be accurate. Does anyone with this size of Proxes 4 tires have any problems with rubbing? I have read somewhere here that some brands in this size may rub, and some won't. Thanks for any info...

The only rubbing you'd experience might be strut rub with the factory monaro wheels. You'd want to make sure your front camber was as close to zero as possible. The factory offset of the monaro wheels helps prevent rear fender rub, and you shouldn't have any.

I asked the same question - getting the HSV V2 GTO wheels, same size and offset as the VZs. geeter05 is using those wheels and Toyo Proxes 4s, no rubbing and actually more clearance than the stockers. I'm going with the Toyos as well.

yea, what he said...:D
i mean, i definitely dont have any rubbing with the hsv wheels and toyo 4's combination, but with the tight tolerance between having rubbing and not having rubbing (especially on my stock wheels/tires) I would say alignment also plays a good part in it.

That's the combo I've been running for the last 4 months. Just gave her the once-over a couple of days ago, and no rub whatsoever.

I'm running MC2 RT6 wheels with 245/40 Proxes 4 with no rubbing.
