I had my drag radials on for about 2 months on my car. I just barley took them off yesterday, and put my street tires back on. I was on my way to my girl's house, and decided to drop it to 2nd gear and goose it at 40mph, and the goat got sidesways!!! HA HA HA HA!! I forgot how bad my traction was on street tires. LOL! What can I say, drag radials spoil you.:banghead:

Try having boost and street tires! I have to be very careful... I can throw smoke up through the first 4 gears!

In cold weather, my Z28 had more traction with the stock 245/16 pure radials than the 275/17 nitto drag radials when both tires were equally cold.....
I used to change them in the winter to keep my chrome ZR1s out of the salt (the car never went out in the snow anyway...;)) and honestly, the Nittos were SUICIDE without a burnout on a cold road.
i once broke the nittos loose trying to merge onto the LIE coming around a FAST sweeping entrance and almost wrecked. It was february and very cold (30s) on a BONE DRY ROAD. I was going every bit of 50-55 mph and i dropped the hammer to get in front of an accord that wouldn't freaking let me in.....
the car downshifted and proceeded to smoke the tires (literally, 50 mph smokeshow), tail out to the right and slingshot me perfectly into the lane in front of the accord where i was able to countersteer and then lift.
:eek2: the nittos might as well have been soaked in warm butter...i couldn't believe how bad they were, it was almost like they weren't rubber at all.
those tires are such a mystery to me....get em hot and i could cut 1.6 60 foots NO PROBLEM ALL DAY. cold, they were flat out DANGEROUS enough to break traction at 50+ mph in a car that only made 341 RWHP (had a loose converter in it but still...;))
